I think the 'excuse' of VAT and PPI issues is getting a little old now. Other IVA companies can consistently manage to close in less than 3 months and in a few cases within 3 weeks. After 6 years in an IVA the last thing a CUSTOMER needs to be told is it will take 6 months to get completion certificate. If a few more people complain to the administrating bodies then maybe, just maybe some fingers may get pulled out of backsides.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues

Hi this 6 months timeframe stated by GT is not related to VAT or PPI issues, it is stated on my IVA agreement going back to Oct/Nov 2006 that it may take up to 6 months so as advised by those that have spoken to them or had an email repsonse this is the 'norm'. I would be interested to know from GT why it does take them so long when other IPs can close within weeks. I belive it will be due to the resources allocated to the closure team.
IVA finished Oct 2011, CC received 27 April 2012, No longer on Insolvency Register 01 May 2012. Jan 2013 - all Credit Files squeaky clean

My last payment was 17th March, I rang GT and they confirmed my final payment had been received and I wasn't required to make any further payments, but I had to submit a final I&E before my IVA could be closed.
I sent all the necessary information 5 weeks ago and have heard nothing since.
My big worry is that my case is still with the review team and the closure procedure hasn't even started yet, this could mean I have to wait a further 6 months from completion of my I&E until I get my completion certificate.
I thought I wouldn't be bothered how long it took to get a completion certificate once I had made all my payments but I am now coming to realise even though I don't have to make any more payments I am still insolvent and tied in to the terms of my IVA and I have had a really horrible thought:
If I die before I receive my completion certificate, will my company pension and life insurances be classed as a 'windfall', if they are my family will lose out big time.
I thought the stress had gone, it hasn't, it aint over till it's over [V][V]
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST

My IVA started in 2007 April thinking that this was nearly ending. This morning I now have received a letter from the company whom I have it with Harrington & Brooks that they have extended it for another 6 months and it will run to 29th October 2012 as for paragraph 8(2) terms and conditions . To allow for the realisation of assets to be finalised for final administration and dividend to be issued. My life has been on hold for 5 years allready when they say the after 60 months you will be debt free it's nothing but false advertising. This has totally stressed me out. The past 5 years they haven't been supportive like they said they would and now I've been told this by letter. I just cried. What a con.

This sounds like the closure proceedure - rather than them extending the IVA
