Only ever do the lotto now when I'm feeling lucky like last week I found a pound so put it on. I've always used lucky dips so don't feel obligated to pay for every draw thinking what if my numbers come up.

Most I've ever won on the lottery was around £40 for 4 numbers and in all this time I've only ever had 4 numbers once. It's been a few years since I've had 3 numbers come to think about it.

Guess I'm unlucky ;-)

That was one reason why we stopped doing it. We actually now save the money we were spending on it and put it in the Terramundi jar - should have a nice little bit of savings at Christmas.

As to work, I run the lottery at the moment and we do stick with the same numbers. Have had a few 3 numbers come up.

I did the same but only for about three months before I realised it was futile!!! I think we all look for ways to get ourselves out of a hole but gambling really isn't the way out as we have all proved.

As long as a lesson is learned then look forward not backwards. Hope all is well with your application for an IVA.

It is not a hopeless case - read my blog!! Hubby had amassed a HUGE gambling debt - all behind my back with online gambling and credit cards that sent paperless statements! We went with Cleardebt and had to provide bank statements and print outs where we'd said to the online gambling sites never to reopen an account and showed he'd got online help for it. Give a couple of companies a call, I'd wholeheartedly recommend Cleardebt as a starting point. Good Luck!

As a thought process the amassing of debt on credit cards through shopping adictions etc are equally as damaging and this can be absorbed and helped. Unless I have missed something in the thread we may not be talking about a gambling addiction merley someone who tried to gamble their way out of debt rather than someone who got into debt by gambling ion the first place. Both of course are somewhat risky but as Mel pointed out quitre succinctly and wins over £500 will have to be paid into the IVA pot anyway! Good luck for the future
