I spoke with mine right at the start of my IVA when it was accepted, on one occasion a few years ago i asked to speak to my Ip and was told 'they dont speak to clients' (think i posted about it on here too!)

Since then i find it much quicker and efficent to go via Declan directly.

Never not once, ive tried a couple of times but had no luck. Ive spoke to case workers, office managers etc but never my ip. Ive had letters which have been cc by someone else and just his name at the bottom.

Even now at the end of the IVA i foolishly thought i might get to speak to my IP still nothing.

Ive only spoke to my IP once or twice (over phone) and that was at the start of the IVA process. When I have needed to contact my IVA Company there has always been someone who can answer my problem or they will obtain an answer and get back to me and at all times they have been excellant in their knowledge of my particular case...so other than contact on this forum, I've not (thankfully) needed to speak to my IP direct.

Nothing against my IP but fingers crossed my need to contact my IP continues in the same vein for the remaining years:)

thats what i was really asking about,if and when i wanted to talk to my ip,could i.
there names are on my proposal so in law they are my employee whom i selected to take care of me as reguards my iva.they b***** well wanted to sign me up at the beginning and they signed to accept so by right they should if requested talk to me.if it was an urgent matter and i could not get it rsolved through the usualchannels there must be a way to contact them direct without them saying"oh they never speak to clients".shame on any company who think this is an ok way to run a buisness.
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards

I am not sure that your IP would want to be seen as your "employee" Back on Track, but I think we know what you mean! IPs who refuse to speak to their clients, when their clients need to speak to them, need to think very seriously about their client service and responsibilities under the best practice guidelines. This is something that the regulators are very hot on.

So long as you had good service from your IP firm orange, which I think you did, then the fact that you have never spoken to your IP has clearly not worked to your detriment. I am sure they would have been there for you were they needed to be!

I recieved good independent advice pre IVA,and support from my IVA company while proposing my IVA.On the day of my meeting,i had a very constructive and supportive chat with the Chairman of my meeting. This gave me the confidence to start my IVA in a positive frame of mind.My case officer and IP supported me with a Full and Final offer to complete my IVA.I was with Payplan and can,t thank them enough. Its important to have a good relationship with your IP company in my book, to help you succeed in your IVA.

I have never spoken to my IP, initially it was with Blair Endersby then was taken over by Grant Thornton.

They have contacted me by letter about claiming ppi which is ok, after all what ever I get back from ppi will go towards paying my creditors, I have saved a huge amount of interest on the loans I had taken out by being in an iva, so I have no problem about my ip or creditors getting a bit extra towards their expences.

I hope that should I have cause to speak to my IP they will be readily available, but until that day arrives I will never know.

Apart from being annoyed over Christmas one year when we wanted to speak to them and they shut down for two weeks, we've had no real problems with them.

We're glad we went down the IVA route - DMP would be rumbling on for many a year yet.

I have only spoken to my IP a couple of times right at the beginning before our IVA was approved, have emailed a couple of times and usually have a swift response, but so far have not really needed to, I know she is there if we have a problem.

Reading through the posts on this subject one thing is very definate; and that is that there are varying degrees of service provided just as there are varying degrees of circumstances of debt that we present them to work with, and at the end of the day as long as the IVA is managed properly, by the whole team (and ourselves) then it doesn't really matter. But I confess just knowing that I can talk to my IP if need be does give me a security blanket.
