Hi all,
I haven't posted since having my IVA accepted 4 years ago but have been watching the forum and picking up advice. It's been a tough 4 years but the end is in sight!!
I want to know if anyone has any advice on getting written house valuations for my equity release? I had to get a written valuation when entering my IVA and ended up paying £200 because I couldn't get any estate agents to give me a free written one. I've got to get 2 valuations this year and cannot afford £200 each. Any advice?

I would try the usual first and ask an estate agent round and ask for it to be in writing ...ask them to give you a quick sale price.

I would also log on to Zoopla and search for houses in your area tat are comparable in size and location....print these valuations off as evidence too.

You should not have to pay for these tonka - it is a requirement of the IVA for you to have the valuations, and the IVA funds should therefore cover this. Confirm this with your IP if you are unable to get a free valuation.

Good morning Tonka,

we have just had to get a valuation of our property for a F&F offer, and my IVA company have accepted valuations from the various websites, ie Zoopola etc.

We had a valuation last year when we thought we would need to ask for a variation. It was a local agent who was happy to give us the information in writing.

Payplan arranged for the original valuation when we started the IVA and it does say in our paperwork that they will arrange another one when the time comes so I shall be wanting them to sort it.

We just and got 2 estate agents round said we were selling up and going abroad, and asked them to email the details, we also applied online for 1, which came back with a provisional offer and then said we had failed the credit checks. Hope that helps.
