HI
My IVA is now over 6 years old but on my experian credit report most of my creditors are showing my accounts as defaults still and they all have different default dates after the IVA was started. Some even 3 years after the IVA was started.
What should I do to get these removed?
Many Thanks
Guppy

Do you have a completion certificate?

I got a letter as I settled the money up early about a year and half after I started the IVA.

A letter stating the iva is completed is often called a certificate. Send copies of the letter to the data controller at any company that hasn't updated accounts to show as settled or satisfied and to any creditors who defaulted you after the date the iva was approved. Google data controllers for addresses to write to. Good luck.

Morning all,

As of yesturday it was 6 years since the start of my IVA, so...i had a look on my credit report and the defaults and IVA was still on there....so i wrote an email for the changes, and today (without any reply so far from my email) everything has dropped off it seems automatically. And my score has shot up to 900!
Delighted it has all come off!

Once my IVA was complete i chased up my completion certificate as soon as the next day. It took a further 3 weeks to recieve it...and i was a little disappointed. Only because it was 5 long years, and all it was is a piece of A4 paper with some writing on it! Maybe i wanted a certificate like i used to get at school...maybe a gold star or something!

But anyway, my advice would be to chase them up, if you do it it will help to speed things up. I was with Grant Thornton and they were really helpful, even though they get some bad press on here, i have never had any problems with them!

Cheers, Jay

P.S. this forum was a godsend when i found it!! Everyone on here are so supportive and always find the answers!
IVA Completed June 2011!

Update is it has now been 6 years + 1 day since the start...it has all just been removed from my credit report! Soo Happy!

It was worth the long wait!

Now I am free again!

You need to write to the data controller at each creditor that has defaulted you after the date of IVA acceptance.

You will need to enclose a copy of your completion letter.

Hi Guppy,
Harpic is right, i basically photocopied my completion certificate and send to the credit controllers of the 3 main credit agencies.
It can take up to a month for them to change you file, but worth calling them a few weeks after to make sure they received it ok.

Great Llyods are being unhelpful and claim I'm not on their system so I now have to go into my local branch for a meeting and santander claim they know nothing about the deafult and don't want to do anything about it. :(
