I am sure all IP's will give advice and help to anyone in an IVA ect who have experienced difficulties caused by RBS, Natwest foul-up.

Make sure you all keep a record of any unpaid Direct Debits and standing orders etc. The banking group have promised that they will cover all these type of costs caused by the fault.

Nobody should be out of pocket and as Rod says keep a detailed account of what is what and then claim every penny owed.

I feel if you've no friends/family to turn to when in crisis you've not a lot!
An excellent point, but i would suggest that everyone on an IVA or similar have had to turn to complete strangers for help when in "crisis"

I'm glad they were strangers or I'd have been embarrassed to approach them with my situation...however, my IP and I now have a relationship basedon trust and I have met her in person a few times.

Another good point but, makes a bit of a nonsense of the one regarding "friends and family" dont you think?

Not met our IP but I do know what you mean Lesley - our kids only found out in the past few months about the IVA. Would never dare tell the inlaws!!

I sometimes wonder why you're picking on me but I guess whilst you are you're leaving someone else alone!
The point I made about shoplifting for food for the persons own family (I'm guessing) is sad that she had no friends and family to turn. In my situation I assumed albeit wrongly that owing £48k I was alone and had got myself into the situation, I tured to Jones Giles who are an Insolvency Company and they helped me by being non-judgemental and found a way for me to get back on track with my debt situation. My family couldn't have helped with such a vast debt and I neither would I expect them to. I fully expect to pay as much as possible back to my creditors and to date I have kept my side of the contract.
However, had the Natwest situation affected me this weekend I would turn to my friends and family for some assistance and I'm sure it would have been given gladlly, I would not have had to resort to shoplifting and that lady in particular must have been desperate.

It sounds like it's been an awful situation for lots of people. I'm often down to pennies in my account, a few drops of petrol in the car and very little food in the cupboards by payday so everyone who has been affected has my sympathies as I know first hand what a dire situation some people must be in!
Hope it all gets sorted first thing tomorrow.
