If it wasn't for the fact that we'd be advertising our problems then we should have an iva.co.uk T shirt!!

Good luck Swampduck and take your time before you decide. It sounds like an IVA is an attractive option so make sure you are happy with the service from your IP. The CCCS are registered as a charity but the CCCSVA which is their IVA arm is a commercial business which unfortunately has only one IP and they apparently cannot process self employed IVAs. If you are self employed do not bother contacting them.

Only one IP? CCCS must have thousands of clients. How does one person cope with the workload?

Very good question which only the CCCS could answer. We do about 80 IVAs per month and have 4 IPs [hopefully 5 soon] and they receive tens of thousands of calls each month for only one IP.

I cannot see how anyone could cope with that amount of work and therefore are all clients getting best advice?

Hi swampduck welcome to the forum. An IP can manage many cases as they have a whole team as part of the process.

As the others have said speak to 2 or 3 companies - if you are researching on here you will see the companies that regularly come recommended. Chat thorugh your options and see where you feel most comfortable about moving forward.

As the others will tell you there is so much to consider when selecting a company to represent you, you need to fell happy to proceed.

Its always worth speaking to two or three IPs for advice before deciding. CCCSVA have helped many people as have lots of other firms. It all depends on what feels right to you. x
