Just thought I’d offer an update on the ongoing saga of Equity in Finance! Since the pack was sent back in December 2011 my case is still on going!
Ive spoken with them today and apparently their ‘on track and time scales’ due to a dispute, however when it took them 4 months to actually do anything with my returned pack I wouldn’t count that as ‘on track’ would you?? Something I was promised by DfD and EiF that I would take no longer than 12 weeks and would not slow up my completion has now taken 28 weeks and is still on going!!!!!!
After my run in with DfD (see earlier post) and now this im at a total loss and have no confidence what so ever in either companies!
I thought the hardest bit was admitting to your debt problems, seeking help and then paying 5 years….who would have thought its actually the bit at the end that causes the most problems, stress and worry!!
Anywho…..think im off to find a crack dealer!!![:0]

I am note sure that either your IP nor the claims company appointed to act for you can really determine how long claims may take to process. At the end of the day this is really in the hands of creditors, but I am sure it will be sorted out for you shortly - a shame that closure of your case is being delayed by this issue nevertheless.
Totally agree with you Artemis, they got mine back in November and sent out letter in feb of this year, only when i contacted them back end of May did they send out 7 warning letters which when i phoned back 3 weeks later they still hadn't done anything, 7 warning letters weren't worth diddly! Now i'm waiting to hear whether it is deemed to be advantageous to continue with the claim as it would appear to have to go to the FO who also have a back log and i hear that word priority once more i swear i shall be most unprofessional when speaking with the person on the other end of the phone. My priority is to get MY iva completed when i was meant to an not delayed due to some incompetant firm who basically don't know their backsides from their elbows.
Rant over, phew!

Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
I can sense the frustration Orchid!! I dread having to ring them, because i know i'll be told what was promised and a prioity last time i called would not have been done!! the poor girl today who said 'i can only apologise....' got it down the banks!! apologies doesnt fix the problem, you apologise then fix it, here they apologise, put down the phone and continue to ignore your case or anything to do with you!!!

Oh the frustration lol, paying lip service to me or giving me the corporate spiel doesn't wash either i wasn't born yesterday and quite frankly if i dealt with my clients the way EIF have dealt with my case and i'm sure many others, my clients wouldn't survive! To have come so far with very few problems and now it seems i beginning to be driven into a very large brick wall through no fault of my own!!

I predict in a few years time, people who were in IVA's will be making claims against the reclaim companies for actions they have forced upon us. Anyone who knew they had and wanted to have ppi that is made to sign up to say it was mis-sold is a disgrace, and thats exactly whats happening in many cases. Some IVA firms are acting like ambulance chasers, yes claims should be investigated but if someone says they wanted ppi and knew what it was for etc etc it wasnt mis-sold.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
This is the problem - who know whether it was missold or not and, in my own opinion, if you knew what you were taking out at the time then you were not missold and should not be encouraged to claim.
Sadly its not as clear cut as that. as i understand miselling is not just a case of do you want this product yes or no, you say no but they add it on anyway, its that the product many people did opt for (such as myself) would not have done what it said on the tin! ie payment that should have been made in absence of your would never have been made.
i remember reading of a case of a man who agreed to PPI policy on his mortgage and cards etc, each policy ended up paying back the PPi he had paid as it stated he would not be covered if he was unable to make payments due to injuries during any "Act of War"......this man in question was a soldier, they knew he was a soldier and also knew if he was injured and tried to use his PPi policy he wouldnt have been covered!

We never had it added on at all, were very firm when saying that we had no need of PPI - I was retired so what payments would they be protecting?
Always made sure that we checked statements etc when they came through.
A friend of ours took out PPI and he is self employed - when he tried to claim he was told he couldn't but even though we've told him to claim he hasn't bothered.
I only had PPI on one account (I think) as they said I couldn't have the card without the insurance as I had a poor credit rating.
At the time I took debt out, I was young enough to run to my Dad for help if I was in any of the situations that PPI covered you for such as redundancy and ill health so always said no to it.
Hi Arty
I know there is alot going on with your case right now and if you like I will forward your issues with EIF directly to them if that helps. Let me know as I am keen to help in any way I can.
Ive spoken with EiF at length and things are at a bit of a stalemate as they are waiting for DfD to make a decision and have been for some weeks now, EiF said they would speak with you guys....umm..again!!!!

Hi arty I am with dfd or was. Did you agree to the ppi investigation and did you think it had bben mis sold? Just asking as we were in the exact same situation as yourself and had a great "fight" off forum with eif and dfd. Declan sorted it out in the end. Would have held up our certificate. We made he last payment in april 2012 and were promised a certificate by the end of may! Got it a month later due to vat and fighting the ppi issue. Still quick I know. Just wondering if its all being done on an individual basis
