So sorry that you are having rotten problems Lem. Last week I was charged twice by Tesco and had to wait 4 working days to get it back. When you are doing your best it is so frustrating when things, out of your control, go wrong. I would say go and have a good run but it's probably a bit too hot for that today. Your kids are smashing by the way x

You set the perfect example to your children Lem. You are loving parents and have made some life changing decisions in the interests of family life. You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and your kids love you lots. I hope Mr Lem gives that bank some grief tommorow so that they understand how this has affected you all.

And thanks to Gillib for the really nice post.

Lem, the power of the forum is immense and I'm sure I can speak for us all when we say we'd all help one another in a crisis.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Lem there is no shame!! You have done the right thing by handling the problem correctly, by going into an IVA. Its called taking responsability, you should be patting urself on the back for doing it.

I wish I could help you, just remember we are all here for you, and Melanie may be able to help you. You are not alone honey.

Keep strong, today too shall pass...

xx

lem,

What an awful situation for you to go through. You have no reason to feel ashamed at all, quite the opposite in fact. You can feel proud that you had the courage and good sense to deal with your debts and each week that goes by is a week nearer to being debt free.

What an amazing gesture from Melanie.
Lem you can take great comfort in the fact that you are a with such a great company who will give you all the help they can and are always there to speak to.

Eventhough you have your own problems and worries. Hope it all works out. Something like that happened to me a long time ago. I went down with my card to the offending place and asked them to put the money back on my card there and then. Take care x

Well I thought I would just update everyone on this saga, my brother came over last Wed night and gave us £100, I flatly refused at first as I just feel that we need to support our own family and not rely on handouts from others, even in times of great stress such as this, however, he was insistent as a few years ago he was having some difficulties with his wife and lived with us for a couple of months while they worked things out, during that time I kept him and also paid a couple of insurances for him, he was quick to remind me of this and how I had helped him out in his time of need!

Anyway, fast forward to now and my reason for updating, luckily we have now been paid and all is well on that front, but the 3-7 days refund from Kwik fit has still not materialised, today is now 10 days since they took the money from our account and now it seems they are having problems with their IT system and are unable to collect or refund any payments to any of their customers at all so our refund is stuck in the 'ether' somewhere floating around in cyberspace.

I am beyond annoyed and exasperated really and not sure where to take this, it's almost £100 we are owed from them and when them taking our money in the first instance was, they admitted, their mistake, I am now getting increasingly annoyed that they are holding onto our money for so long, they can't give us any guarantee now of when we will get our money back so has anyone any suggestions on how we go about this???? how do we escalate this further???

Bless your brother lem, I'm glad he was able to help.

The way you are being treated by Kwik Fit is shocking. It might be worth calling them and asking for the details of their official complaints procedure. This is causing you hardship and they shouldn't be able to get away with it. I'm angry on your behalf!

Good luck x

A call to your local trading standards oiffice would be a good starting point. This is very poor customer service from Kwik-Fit - expecially when it relates to their mistake in the first place.

Thank goodness for little brothers!

Hi Lem this is shocking. I also think it might be worth informing Kwik Fit that you are giving the local paper a call - they won't want bad PR in thel ocal press. I hope when they refund you they also pay you for any charges you have incurred and they give you some token gesture for the incredible inconvenience they have caused you.

Thank you Skippy, Mel and Tina, to be honest, I just want my money back pronto and not bothered about any compensation for anything, we will see if it is in our account on Monday and if not will call them again and see what they have to say, if we still have no joy we will look to their complaints dept and then maybe trading standards

Lem I am so sorry to hear that you still are having problems with Kwik fit, may think about giving CAB a ring on Monday if the money hasn't been refunded good luck Lem
