I made my last my payment of my IVA Nov 2011 and have emailed the closure team 4 times and still no conclusion as to when i will recieve my closure certificate, I just feel I am getting nowhere with GT.
I made my last payment 1st Nov 2011 & received my CC last week. I have been in regular contact with the closures department over the past few months.
Have they replied to any of your emails with any reasons as to whats happening. We were originally with Accuma. We were transferred to GT in 2009. On closing there was an issue with un-equalised dividends. Nothing to do with us & nothing we could do just wait.
Have you been with GT from the start of your IVA? Just wondered as there may be a similar reason?

Wow Vixster... lucky you. I'm on the same timeline, I made my final payment to GT (started with Accuma) in November 2011, but I'm nowhere near getting a CC yet. Thought things were progressing last week but now I have the EIC letter to worry about?
Bet it feels great. You should be well chuffed, sounds like you're one of a very select few that GT have managed to close.
I to am waiting for certificate, I had a full and final acceptance agreed in September 2011 and 10 months later still nothing. Grant Thornton (Originally with Blair Endersby ) will not give me much detail as to what is causing the massive delay. As it happens come the 6th of August 2012 my 6 years is up and it clears off my credit file anyway. But until that piece of paper arrives I wont truly feel like i've done it!
Did receive email today saying may have an answer in a week or so. Its quite laughable really!
It seems as though Grant Thornton have a bad reputation for the closure stage of the iva. I made my final payment at the end of april 2012 and had the final income and expenditure review carried out and had written confirmation that all was ok and my case was being passed to the closure dept and that this would take upto 6 months and that I could expect to receive my certificate of completion january 2013. I heard nothing from GT whatsoever and then after contacting them in december and being advised that everything was on track for me to receive the certificate, it is now the end of january 2013 and I have contacted GT as I have not received it and to find out what was happening and the customer services advised me that they had made an error and my case was not passed to closures until 1st november 2012 so 7 or 8 months down the line when I have been thinking my case is with the closures dept it is not so. So not only have they wasted time I also consider them to be playing with my life and no doubt other peoples lives as I cannot move on until I receive that certificate as the iva I believe to stay on the register 3 months after the certificate is issued and then further time is required to raise my credit scoring, GT are holding up the whole process and is totally unacceptable. I have emailed the closure dept direct as advised by GT customer services and have not had a response. I have requested that a manager calls me and I believe the manager to be Karol Wilson but after a week passing and not hearing from her and having to contact them again today to ask them to get her to contact me and to this point still not hearing from her, I find this damn right rude as well as frustrating and out of order on GT's part expecially after paying the fees and upholding my side of the agreement without fail.
I was with Blair Endersby before Grant Thornton took over. I feel that GT have just left me hanging and have washed thier hands of me now that all of the money has been received. Regular communication would be good and for them to pull thier finger out. I don't know what else to do.
If the closure team's wages are performance related then they must earn less than the poverty line! No problems at all from other departments in GT so why all the complaints at closure? Maybe they need a manager with size 12 feet...
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
I realise this is of no comfort -- but you are not the first to discover recently that your file has been languishing in a cupboard before finding it's way to closures ! All the PPI hassle and hold up apart, they only count their 6 mont admin time from when it does reach closures.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I made final payment in April, passed to Closures in May, I was told in November that my final dividends would be paid mid January and CC issued straight after. Am now being told on hold as PPI needs to be investigated even though I was told by GT I could sign a disclaimer...and they are unable to give any timings for closure.
I have emailed 3 times asking for greater clarity on process and timings and they chose to ignore me.
You could just say GT are a joke, but in fact it's not funny. It is making people very upset.
