Sorry to hear that lem. I would go down there and stay until refunded as they can put the money back through a debit card. Cab is a good way failing that or a call to complaints. GOod luck
Lem......hope it retun in your account next week....I certainly would push for some compensation for the distress and inconvenience it has caused.
At least your brother came up trumps and was so supportive ....
Keep smiling x

Lem,
This is complete rubbish and you have been fobbed off 100%.
Go to the Financial Services Authority website (who now regulate the banks) - enter in search (Bank accounts - know your rights) - I think this actually is on the front page so you may not have to search it.
Print off the unauthorised transactions bit, go down to the bank, show it to them and ask why they have not stopped and credited the transaction back to your account.
It does not matter who has taken the money, whether it was a card or not etc, the fact is you have 'not authorised' the transaction and the bank must refund you the money (they can take it up with Kwik Fit).Do not let the bank try to tell you this is a Continuous Payment Authority - it was clearly cancelled by your husband and therefore permission to treat it as such was withdrawn.
Then complain to the bank and they should compensate you, waive any charges etc (because thats what they 'should' have done the first time you brought it to their attention.
I deal with this all day and I am surprised how few people are ever pointed to or are aware of this booklet that the FSA put on its website the first day it took over regulation.
Hi Lem
I really feel for you. It's bad enough having to struggle at the best of times without companies taking money without your consent. I would argue with them that as it was their error they should pay for any costs incurred by you. I know this doesn't help your situation now but there are so many people on here offering support, I know you will be OK. Keep your chin up and you are a wonderful person who should be proud of themselves!!!
Take what life throws at you and hold your head up high. You're only human after all!!!
Well lo and behold, still no sign of our money in our bank account this morning, so we are now 12 days, hubby is going to ring the bank this afternoon and demand an immediate refund, I have read the info on the FSA site (many thanks for that!) however, it doesn't state what you can do about it if the bank refuses, it just says they have to offer an immediate refund for an unauthorised transaction, so we will see what they say!
Oh Lem I really feel for you. It's bad enough having to cope with limited funds at the best of times and then this happens to you. I sincerely hope that the bank will sort this out promptly and refund your payment x
I would certainlynot be happy with my money back. Perhaps you should contact someone like Tony Hetherington of the Mail on Sunday and see how KwikFit and your bank like a bit of bad publicity.
You could tell your bank and KwikFit that you will do this first which might speed them up a bit. I do hope 'Kwik'Fit are speedier at fitting exhausts than giving people their money back!
Hi Lem - I am disappointed for you and disappointed with Kwik Fit that the money has not been returned to you. Interesting advice from greenfighter whch should definitely be followed up on - either way I hope someone does the rightful thing by you and you get your money soon. If the bank refuse then you may also want to contact Watchdog on TV as if it has happened to you you can guarantee it has happened to a number of people and should be investigated.
