they were obviously in such a rush to get your delcaration out to you they forgot how to spell your name! You should ask them if you amend the form yourself will it still be accepted,as the last thing you want to do is have to wait for another form to be sent to you. or they could scan and email you the form - that's what they did for me.

Yes - your credit rating will be affected for six years from the date the IVA was accepted by creditors.
Debt free direct told me today that it will be affected until I get my closing certificate. I have been waiting 11 months for it and quoted what you had said but according to DFD you are wrong !

my experience is that as you are still on the insolvancy register until you receive your closure certificate your credit rating is affected until that time comes as it's listed as a public notice on your credit report.
I finished my IVA in March 2012 after 6 years and I'm still waiting for my cc to, I checked my credit report last week and it shows the public notice on there so yes you are still affected - no idea whether this is correct practice on DFD's part though, as when I started my IVA I was also told my credit rating would be clear after 6 years - clearly this is not the case!!

Your IVA will remain on the register until DFD tell them that it is completed, same with the credit agencies.
Your credit rating will remain shot but defaults should start dropping off after the six year period. Once you have that letter you can get any defaults registered after the date of acceptance removed.

To be honest with you Stevie i personally wouldn't believe anything that i had heard from the telephone folks at DFD, Melanie on the other hand i would definately believe. I think until that IVA is marked paid and you have your CC then it remains on your file, DFD need to get into gear and close these cases down. Hopefully Mumsy you will get that all important CC soon and then you will come off the register. xxxx

thanks Orchid, fingers crossed [:)]
I think if you have an IVA that does last the initial 5 year period and no extensions are added on then your credit rating will be clear in 6 years, but if you have a 12 month ext (which lots of people in IVA's do for various reasons) then it's highly unlikely you'll get your cc within a couple of weeks of making your final IVA payment. So you remain on the register until the IP issues the certificate, which, as we've seen from this forum, can be up to a year later. It is something that should be brought to your attention when your IVA is extended but seems to slip some IP's mind's!

I totally agree with you Mumsy, with the exception of a few, there does seem to be a lack of communication in relation to changes to IVA etc. Having said that though i did receive a letter earlier this year in relation to my not having equity etc and was told that to meet the 63pence in the pound i would have to pay a further £746 which is what i'm paying now and will be paying the last half a week on friday, can't wait, however the letter did also say that my IVA would be extended for a further 6 months, presumably to sort out Creditors, VAT and also PPI but that my payments would cease once i'd paid the £746. Since then however i have been awarded over £18000 in PPI so that has had a massive uplift on my creditors return, however 33% of that will have been captured by the company that DFD asked to do this as well as 8% to the tax man. Hey ho an extra god knows how much as i'm not good with maths will now be available, so increasing the % in the pound, fingers crossed. xx

£18,000?!?! Blimey the banks really ripped you off then. That's a massive amount of money, glad you got it back to pay into your IVA. How long did the claim take from signing your authorisation to getting the ppi payment?

Hi Shammy - DFD customer services phoned me yesterday so they are still operating. Was advised there is a big backlog in the drafting team so that's us in limbo at the minute!
F&F approved May 13 - just awaiting Completion Certificate - moving to a new Debt Free life !!
