They need to be able to verify you are who you say you are before they give access to your credit file.

After all you wouldn't want any old tom, dick or harry looking at your file.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Funny Experian took the £2 before saying they didn't recognise me. Thought that was just mean and a bit naughty.
Suppose I'll never know why. Wonder if I pay for one of their super duper expensive services they'll find me or once again will they take the money and then say I don't match.
Btw working Equifax to the bone for my £2 they've already had 2 of my default dates set properly, had a sold on removed and raised queries to 4 others. And everytime they change something they send me a new free report Now that what I call value for money hehehe

Hi,

With Noddle I applied online and my report was then made available immediately.

Experian I had to wait for a pin number to be sent to me through the post before accessing my report.

Equifax I had to call them and then email a copy of my driving license and a bank statement to access my file.

I suppose that they all have different systems and at the end of the day it all comes down to security and fraud prevention.

Even funnier I found out that years ago I had signed up with Experian and my ID and password still work. Info looked the same but wanted £14.99 amonth to give memy report.
Guess there just tighter on the £2 report.
I've sent a page print and a sarcastic note to ask why one but not the other.
Passes the time LOL
