I am sure that DFD are still in business. They are one of the largest providers of IVAs in the UK, and hopefully their website problems are just a temporary blip.
Theyve always got big backlogs... When will it ever clear !!!! I know theyre still going but lack of any communication and website down doesnt inspire confidence in ever getting my completion certificate from them.. I'm in their pile somewhere, God knows where, and guess He's the only one that can tell me because DFD cant!
I'll wait a few more days before the Ombudsman gets to hear of it!
I’ve only just caught up with this thread, been away for the last 3 weeks with little internet access [:(]
Seems like there is a few of us in the same boat, some of you may remember I posted a while back about the ongoing saga of HMRC, DFD, PPI, EiF and many other acronyms!!
I too ended up filling a complaint direct with my IP following hitting a brick wall with the customer care team so I emailed him directly after also being told I was ‘not allowed to speak with him’
Last Friday a variation meeting was held for me with creditors to sort the HMRC VAT issue, this went ahead with problems and have now been told following an update from EiF about PPI my case will finally be handed over to the closures team for final payments and certificate….still not sure how long that takes?!?!?
Anywhoodle whilst there are a few of us in the same boat can we post updates here on the forum so the other know what’s been said?!?...knowledge is power and all that!! [:P]
Cheers eras

IVA completion and certificate received 08/10/2012!!!
Wow, what an interesting few pages. I would first say that although I don't say much on the site I do follow various topics with great interest, especially the one's that apply to me personally, in this case PPI.
Although I am only 17 mths in to my IVA I am most certainly looking towards the end, the bit in the middle is just necessary pain. Since asking a perfectly simple question to my IP about PPI and claiming it, I eventually got a reply some 10 mths later saying that they wanted to pass my details to a third party company to make the claim on my behalf. I rejected this as in the interim I had done my own research, mostly here, and deduced that it probably wasn't worth it as there was not much money involved and the bank concerned would have most of it as I owed them in terms of overdraught that formed part of the IVA agreement. GT have now informed me that it is my duty to the creditors to persue this claim. However, I like you mumsy, do not believe that it was misold and therefore I am not willing to make a fraudulent claim. I await their latest answer on this.
Fortunately for me I have 4 1/2 years and the comfort of all this great advice, to the end of my IVA to be able to sort it all out and hopefully avoid the harrassment that you have all had. This is what makes this web site great, it is our proverbial second opinion and so good to have up front. And it must the IP's out there on their toes.
Good financial health to you all, however long it takes.
Hi Blaster,
apparently you can get an opt-out form from GT for PPI and bank charges, there's a thread on the forum about it but they have a back-log with issuing the forms so you may have to wait ..... hopefully not another 10 months though [:)]
An update from me is nothing has happened!
I've not received my cc yet from DFD since my case was referred to the completions team 2 weeks ago (and marked as priority!). I understand it's not as simple as just printing a cc and posting it to me, many things probably have to be done before it can be officially closed. So I'll chase them again about it in a week or so, and the week after that, and the week after that, and..........![:)]

I spoke with DFD this morning to get an update, Judith is the lady who deals with all complaints following that she is the 'go to' person after your complaint is upheld, problem is she's away till a week on Monday and today the customer care team were unable to tell me anything, just 'speak to Judith when she's back'!! Also told they were still waiting for the ppi claims to be sorted after being assured by Judith weeks ago this had now been sorted!!
It seems, as always, a case of ' Not my problem' with DFD customer care team!
After my complaint was upheld and I loaded with Judith on several occasions I felt like I was finally getting somewhere.......now it feels like everything has to go on hold again! Utterly frustrated and angry with this company!
Who thought the 5 years of struggling and being skint would be the easy bit?!?

my personal experience of say the last 4 months with DFD, is that often if you ring up with a question appertaining to your individual case, the answer you are given by the call handler from DFD is more of a generic response from a script, as opposed to factual information based on only your actual personal information.
Over the last couple of years, I have had some superb service from a few individual members of the DFD team and have found if I ring these directly on their direct dial numbers, then they make the effort to enquire about my personal situation in order to give me the facts of my own case.
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012
Hi, not posted for a while, we are still waiting for CC last payment oct 2011 with DFD, we were in contact with Declan but not seen any posts from him for a while. We had the letter regarding VAT variation meeting in may and we were promised our CC within 8 wks, not heard anything since, is there a dedicated closure team who we can contact? if so does anyone know the email address. thanks
Dealing with PPI is really quite simple as follows:-
If you believe you were mis-sold a policy then you should claim, as you have been wronged. If your IP believes that this is an asset of the IVA then they are entitled to the full sum, unless creditors have the right to offset the balance against their debt, and subject to you paying tax on the interest element of he claim - if you need to.
If you do not believe that you were mis-sold a policy - then that is the end of the exercise, unless your IP wishes you to pursue potential claims that you may have forgotten about or were not aware of, in which case you do have a duty to at least explore this.
Hi Arty,
my case was finally dealt with by Judith, she's the Customer Care Team Manager, she was very helpful and the one who finally sent me the ppi opt out form to sign and sent my case to the completions team for closure - all within 24 hours! Why their manager has to do this and not their supposed customer care team I'll never know but at least it's much closer to being closed now than it has been in 6 months. How long it will take from now though is anyone's guess.
I to have found from my experience with DFD that they do have some brilliant staff who really want to help you, and then plenty of 'can't be bothered' staff who couldn't care less if you're in tears over your finances.
I was once sent a letter from DFD 2 weeks before xmas demanding payment of almost £2k by xmas eve or they'll default my IVA and make me bankrupt, I was on maternity leave at the time and as you can imagine I flew into panic and called them. Luckily I was helped by a lovely women in customer services who was very reassuring and found out for me that the letter was sent in error by a disgruntled staff member who had been sacked and sent several letters out as a parting gift. I appreciated the honesty but was still extremely surprised that this could be allowed to happen.

Hi mumsy
Do you have an email address for this judith person. Maybe if I contact someone directly I'll get a response rather than at the moment where every email, letter is being sent to a general address and generally ignored and they will in time get round to answering it (months later if am lucky) . I am at the point of sending a letter to the financial ombudsman now as its been a frustrating 9 months of waiting for a CC with no forecast of assurance of when I will receive mine!!
