Hello
We have just completed out 2nd review. Received a letter today (23) which was dated 07 August, telling us that our payment will rise by £65 from September 1st. Whilst I have no problem with the increase, I do have a problem with the fact that it is expected in a weeks time. I have just booked the car in for annual service and MOT, which I have budgeted in for this months wages and there is no way we can afford another £65 on top. (And that is hoping the car doesn't need work). So my question is,should we have been given more notice of the increase? We have struggled, but managed to keep afloat for the past 2 years but this will seriously put us into financial difficulty. Your advice would be much appreciated. Obviously we intend to contact our IP first thing tomorrow, just thought you could advise in the interim.

Hi
I do think it is unreasonable to expect the extra payment within a week, ask to start the new payment next month. Any utility provider or mortgage company have to give at least two weeks notice of a payment change

Let's hope that common sense prevails for you Dumbeh, especially as that letter was probably sat on someone's desk for a while, this happened to me sometime ago and i asked for it to be put back till the next month, this was allowed so hopefully this wil be the case with yourself. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Just to update, OH telephoned our IP this morning and explained our situation. She was brilliant and has amended our new repayment date to 01 October. Phew, such a relief.
Thank you for your support, means a lot!
