As I understand it that its not worth making a PPI claim during the IVA process. But has anyone made a claim after the IVA has been completed? I have two more years in my 60 month IVA.
thanks

just on your ppi i have been on a few forums and i belive it is down too you if you want too claim !! not the iva co !! but take legal advise and good luck dont let them bully you into signing the ppi claim forms like they did me !!!:(
it's about an even split post IVA, from the posts on here. But don't be suprised if you get a letter in the post near the end of your IVA..Just when you thought it was all over!
Claim if you believe it was misold don't if it wasn't but don't be bullied by a claims company. The FSA have said that using claims companies in not suitable for people who are insolvent as the creditor you are claiming from may later come for you for the claims company fee...banks revenge! so suggest if you do, claim yourself and most accept claim by email nowdays - simple
thank you. I think what I really want to know is I have heard that most PPI firms will not make a claim for you and even if they did and monies were owed it would be seen as a windfall and therfore all the monies would go towards the IVA so is it worth it during the process . My point is why cant we claim after the IVA has ended/ Has anyone done this?
Hi AshB. As PPI refunds are viewed as assets of the IVA they will be payable into your IVA in full. This can even be the case ( as we are finding out) after the IVA has concluded.
In any event, if you have, or might have, a PPI claim your IP will do it for you as part of your IVA.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
It's the other way round sad to say, IP firms give their data base of clients to claims companies and in return the IP firms get a commission oh yeh they trouser a bit too. Still to be fair business is business. Like I say it's likely your IVA Company will be dropping you a letter and a claim form, from a claims company sooner or later.
The PPI is a potential asset of the IVA not windfall and a lot of letters go out near the end of IVA’s as it is time barred to statue ie you have to get a claim in before six years up
Now a few have escaped and gone on to claim, some are told as the asset existed at the time of the IVA therefore is still belongs to the IVA and it goes to the creditors and other claimants do get the money, but these are the lucky few and most have already done their five years.
Foggy - not in all cases!
Just yesterday a poster from with an IVA from GT actually did a cut n paste from GT (they've got their CC)that any monies due, the poseter gets the lot, it even caught Melanie off guard!
