The thought of even having a credit card again scares me ! Not sure I ever want one - if I do it might well be a pre-paid one !

Helen - your own bank might be worth a try. You should have a good internal score with them that will help your application. Saving a little each payday into one of their accounts also improves your internal score even if you take it back out again in the same month! x

before I applied for a credit card I paid £5.95 and checked my own credit rating first, in my opinion it was better knowing what my score was before applying for credit rather than just going ahead and have the possibility of being rejected and it being on my file for 6 months.

With Vanquis I don't think it matters too much what your score is. I do know of one poster on here who was refused and she had no problems with credit at all.

I want to look in to a credit card to rebuild our ratings but still waiting for our completion certificate from GT so I suppose this is not possible at the moment. Congratulations to all who are rebuilding their lives after IVA and all the best for the future. x
