I've just completed my first year of my IVA, & have just changed jobs which has resulted in an increase in my income, but the change has also resulted in my travel expenses increasing which wipes out my income increase. My problem is that my "IVA relationship manager" doesn't seem to be able to see past the increase in my disposable income & is only wanting to increase my travel allowance by £30 a month, which is no where near enough. What are my options for getting past this obstacle?

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum

Insist on speaking directly to your IP on this, an explain to them the difficulties you are having with their staff member. It seems very strange why this person is able to look at one side of the equation, but not the other.

Which firm are you with?

I'm with FreemanJones everything went well in the first year then in the last couple of months things seemed to have slipped, payslips etc. apparently not received documents not getting returned to me then all these missing things arrive in the post the other day, its a bit of a concern.Hopefully things will get back on track but at the moment I'm feeling like I'm not an individual just a number that that has to fit the script...

Hi Dave.12

I'm sorry you are experiencing problems with your IVA, we clearly need to look at this again for you.

If you can drop an email with your reference to my colleague Steven.hewitt@freemanjones.co.uk and we will give you a call on Monday.

In the meantime please try not to worry, we'll do what we can to get this resolved for you.

hi dave

my advice would be do exactly as " 4kidsnocash " advised

i was in a similar position to you several years ago with DFD, whereby my travel to work costs where above the norm. I sent in several weeks reciepts and they were quite happy with this and increased my allowance

good luck and it looks like the forum has worked for you ie a response from your IVA co on here
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

an update...I'm still no closer to getting this resolved. After the email, I did receive a call, it really wasn't convenient to take it at the time, I let them know when I could take the call...haven't heard a peep out of them since. Steve at FJ is trying to arrange a call back, it must be as frustrating for him as it is for me that this hasn't progressed after his efforts.

I hope you manage to get this sorted soon Dave. Why not put a call through to them an insist on speaking directly to the IP acting for you. They may not be aware of the difficulties you are currently having, and are sure to want to help you when they do.
