Great news! I remember the relief when I got accepted for a new account a few months before entering my IVA and being able to actually have real money in my account instead of it being in an overdraft.
1st payment Oct 2008, last payment Dec 2013. Certificate received March 2015 due to PPI claim.

Hey welcome to the world of having an IVA. Well done for sorting out your new bank accounts. At first i bet it feels strange not paying the credit card bills etc?

Regarding phone calls we changed our phone number,i just did not want to be bombarded with calls constantly telling us how much we owed!!

They still get in touch with you by post which is ok because you just then send copys of all the letters to your IP.

Harrysmummy: You will be fine, once you get everything up and running you will be glad you have done something about it.You do get some ups and downs along the way but as long you have a good budget to work with and you stick to it you will be fine.

Best of luck to you all and have a lovely Christmas.

Brilliant news - and well done to Nat West for being supportive. I wish some of the other clearing banks would follow suit.

Congrats!

I chose Natwest, just in final stages of my IVA proposal and they have been helpful.

Strange feeling being able to buy essentials and have money for the month!!

I've told most of my creditors by email or phone that I am planning an IVA. They have been helpful which im surprised at and left me alone for now whilst in process. But your IVA company should be able to help you

IMLO, IPs are generally astute and usually confident in putting forward proposals. They would not submit one knowing it would not be accepted. Try not to worry too much
Completed IVA - August 2012 pheeeeeeeeeew
