Its a real shame you have not been able to speak to your IP and sound all this out, this is a problem with some caseworkers making these snap judgements from what I read without perhaps the experience in knowing that the £5K might be the best offer for all concerned and your IP might have a different view. Can you call them and say that you need to without fail speak to your IP? Ask if you can book an oppointment for a telephone conversation with him but making sure he has all your notes first even if its a 5 min telecom it is something.
Took The plunge and made the call, changed our family life and we have never been happier. Debt free and wont go back..... IVA was by far the best thing we ever did to teach us the real value of Family and money

Thanks inamessindeed that is a good idea. I will still send everything first then I will ask for the telephone appointment. I wonder if any other clients of this firm have the same problem.

Just a couple of points from me:-

1 You are entitled to speak with your IP at any time if you need to

2 It is your offer of variation to creditors, and this should be put forward even if the IP does not support it.

What reasons have they given you for rejecting the £5k?

Melanie - they gave no other reason than it would not be accepted by the creditors. It was also stressed that they would not put anything forward that in their opinion would be rejected.

We are at the doctors tomorrow to get a letter from him.
The mortgage redemption letter is on its way to us.

I/we will forward this along with an updated I&E directly to Phillip Allen...see where we go from there.

Many thanks again for your excellent advice and support.
