Thanks Foggy,
Yes now that Xmas is out the way and life is returning to normal again (what ever that is these days) I will enquire on the progress for my review.

Cheers

A little praise where it's due goes a long, long way. Everyone likes to feel appreciated for their efforts, even if they are just doing their job.

Hi,

They are one and the same company. GT have just taken over RSM and no, it's virtually impossible to change companies, too complicated and too expensive.

If GT have taken over RSM then I hope this is not one too many as those of us who should have been discharged many many months ago will hopefully get priority for closure as when I read about people getting their certificates after a short time it is so disheartening

They have taken them over - not sure how this is going to affect things.

Yes, GT bought out RSM, I didnt actively change my IVA company. My first annual review last year with RSM was quite painful, so I dont look forward to these annual reviews, especially as after agreeing a few key points last year I feel I will have to repeat this year with a new company.

Have you started the review yet, Gareth ? I must say my first GT review went well. A slight mis-communication, but that was sorted out with an email to Karol and a phone call --- all in all not bad at all.

Hi Foggy,
Just received the letter with I&E form a few days ago from GT. Also received their annual report to the creditors, need to discuss some points on that as I think there some errors wrt arrears.
Also need to discuss current car situation, as mine has started playing up, already paid out £140 and problem hasn't been diagnosed yet. I used to dabble with cars many years ago and I now think its related to fuel control system but not sure - any mechanics out there?

Hi Gareth. I hope you get the quibbles sorted. I found them easy to deal with and realistic. Still awaiting my copy of the annual report, but have been told it will be with me shortly.

I dabbled with cars when they were clockwork ---- but I have panic attacks when I look under a modern bonnet ... all computer modules and sensors ! I have surmised, though, that many faults are, in fact, sensor related rather than component failure !

Agree with you there Foggy, I miss the good old days of lifting the bonnet and diving straight in - dont know where to dive now, no sign of a distributor or carb anywhere! I am tempted to get a Haynes manual and investigate myself, after experience with garage (see below).
I believe its related to a sensor (maybe exhaust) as problem kicks in after the car has warmed up, runs lovely up to that point, almost as if it is pumping far too much fuel in at low revs, tends to go away as revs increase over 2000rpm. . Got to laugh though, after dropping car off at the garage across the road from me, the chap rang up late afternoon to advise (no kidding) quote "its the engine"! The suggested I dont spend anymore on it (basically throw it away), I was horrified intiailly, then began to have serious doubts about what he was actually saying. He didnt really fill me with confidence, after having done a compression test, he was suggesting oil was going straight through the engine (no leaks anywhere) and it could be the rings! Smoke is pouring out but its not burning oil.
They kept car overnight to investigate further following day but started engine and it ran fine, took it for a road test (didnt say how far) and it was fine, so they rang me up and said it was ready to collect - hello these things dont fix themselves! Sure enough after a thorough road test, problem was still there. Shame really as garage is literally 2 mins walk from home and they are good for MOT and services etc. Began to wonder if it was actually the guy behind the desk that did the check and not a qualified mechanic.
I was surprised I got my Annual Report before having had my review. I rang GT tonight, didnt expect a response as it was just after 7pm but a pleasant Irish chap answered the phone, took details and arranged for someone to call me tomorrow. Still a bit nervous about review though.

Sounds like the Lambda sensor. If that goes adrift it tells the car the mixture is all wrong and the car tries to compensate -- but, of course is actually messing up the mixture in doing so. That's the sum total of my knowledge on that subject :-)

Fingers crossed you get your call tomorrow.

I would not even know where the bonnet release button is on my car!!! Cars are for boys to dabble with in my house!

You let the boys bring the car in to the house?
