I had no problem with Blair Endersby everything went smooth, I knew exactly where I was with them all through. As I have previously stated on here I happened to make an enquiry with GT after making a fantastic progress and realy proud of it. Then to be basically shot in the foot with their fees treble to what they were with B E.
Am I realy supposed to sit back and just accept it ?
They do not communicate with customers and are most ignorant when you do get to speak to them.
The best thing I ever did was an IVA and yes I 100% recommend it.
However I do not accept being treated the way they have treated me and I will fight it to the bitter end.

Thank you Jeff. I do sometimes feel that I am the lone voice representing the insolvency profession, but I am passionate about my work both with my own clients and offering advice to others where I can - so I guess it is my choice to put myself in this position at the end of the day.

Hi

Melanie Giles, as always, there to answer the questions and address concerns in these difficult times

This post is just stating a fact where this forum is concerned as we see it and should not be taken as favouring any individual IVA company (we dont do that at NEDCAB)

Though some people will take there time and I found this forum very helpful when i was making, and when people will be deciding, on one of the hardest and biggest decisions they will make to their future.

You will be spending 5 years with a company who will have your future in their hands basically and will want to make sure you are with a company that has your best interests through the good and bad.

It is a hard time for people making the leap and all this information is useful when deciding. You can have conversations with many people about your IVA and all will sound positive and helpful, it is the information from people in the IVA and experiences where you find the most udeful info.

I agree that they will have many happy IVA clients who will be working well for, but everyone should be treated the same and with your future, I just think that people should be getting responses to any question or query sent, even if it is to say we are not sure when this will be, or could be another 6 months, anything is better than no response.

And this all adds up to people who are deciding and studying companies before taking that leap....[:)]

It is true, Peter, that customer service (with a couple of noteable exceptions) is nothing short of abysmal, especially with the larger firms.

We are very fortunate to have experts here, who often post in their own time, who will expedite queries on our behalf and my hearfelt thanks goes out to them. But, and it is a big "but", they should be a last resort, when all other avenues have failed, rather than the only way to get through!

But, then, to many firms, we are not the customer ......

Foggy, i know on many issues we agree to differ but for what it's worth, your postings on this thread seem to echo my own opinion and style. I dont want to sound, or come over as being sycophantic but sticking your neck out and sounding off for the "customers" is most admirable.

My point is that IPs do not like referring to their clients as customers, regardless of what the dictionary says.

Understood, Mel.

I recall, many years ago, when I worked briefly in a hospital, patients suddenly became clients --- though I think that has worn off and patients have made a come-back.

Random thought .... why do firms with clients have customer service departments ?

Oh yes definitely patients are patients foggy, so does that mean the creditors are clients as well then?

Out of IP, debtor and creditor (the three parties to an IVA), which party sets the fees? And, technically, as the fees come out of the IVA estate, they pay them too.

Kinda leaves one party out in the cold .... but I have my cynical head on this morning Aunt Sally :-)
