Hi Rod. Yes you will -- this money should have been declared at the time. I imagine your IP will want to make arrangements for it to be repaid, if they don't agree the expenditure on the roof.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Provide them with receipts etc, for the roof and have a chat hopefully they'll allow the expenditure. However, just as a note I would probably inform them of extra earned as it happens and then get them to allow for any costly repairs as they happen too no surprises then at review time. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I don't think any IP would penalise you for this, providing the expenditure can be justified, but we would all rather know about it at the time rather than after the event. Would your house insurance not have covered the expenditure?

Unfortunately you will have to provide a receipt - have no idea how to contact them unless they have a website or an address you can visit?

I don't think there is anything we can do without details.

You could try your local CAB.

Did you pay cash or is there something you can trace through your bank.

You could try it but you should really have got a receipt for work done/
Do you have details of the company you used?

I would ring the friend & get more information from the other friend to get a receipt! It's not going to hurt them to write it down on a piece of paper with a contact number.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Hello rodmunch. There are rather a few posts concerned with this receipt (?). I know in general circumstances you should have informed your IP and furnished them with a receipt but the fact is you cannot raise one. Obviously the work was needed and correctly you had it done. Not getting a receipt was clearly an oversight on your part so why don't you just come up front to your IP and explain this. If your IP does play up about this receipt, although I would think they would be more peeved about you not telling them, I'm sure you could get a valuation of the work done retrospectively. If you know anyone in the allied trades that is? I'm sure your IVA won't fail over this but you may get a slapped wrist.

how would they work out what i owe them? i earned roughly £5000 over 6 months but the roof cost me £2500. will they want the whole amount in one lump sum or spread over the remaining IVA terms which is about 3 years?

I think rodmunch, if you say how it is to your IP, they will be as honest with you as you are with them. I guess, in that scenario, you could negotiate with confidence. Remember rod, they are there to help and not pull the rug from under you. Just bite the bullet and give them a call. Hopefully you can enjoy your weekend, although I sense this is worrying you rather a great deal.

Try contacting the friend of a friend again and see if they have an alternative number. I agree with TheArtist though do come clean with your IP to get it sorted x
