Over 12 months after f&f settlement, no PPI involved and still no completion certificate. They have no phones in closures team, take 10 days to respond with a bland response and Karol hasn't acknowledged my email or replied yet.

Worst company to deal with for customer service and communication ever. About to lodge complaint with Secretary of State. Be warned don't do an IVA with them.

Karol has helped alot of people on here and appears to be a sliver of gold in amongst a........well some things that are not gold.

I suspect that her email inbox is getting full to the point where she can't keep up. I sent her an email on Tuesday that hasnt had a reply or acknowledgement yet. She's probably a victim of her own success in that regard. What I am sure of, is that villifying her on here won't do any good and will probably drive away the best chance that many of us have of getting the outcomes we're looking for.

None of that is to say I disagree with your comments about GT, they clearly have some serious issues at this time and it's concerning that they don't seem to be taking a communicative practical approach to sorting them out.

I can only agree that Karol is trying her best and has pulled some rabbits out of the hat for forum posters. However, I am sure there is a limit to what she can do and I bet the closure team hate to see her coming!

Give her time to get through everything and I am sure she will be in touch. I can assure you that she is real and doing an excellent job under very trying conditions.

I am sure Karol does exist and is really busy with her role within GT and our forum members. Hopefully things will get easier for GT clients very soon as I can imagine your frustration.

Completely agree with Bradders. I have spoken to Karol a few times, and she is very helpful.

A complaint to the Secretary of State will fall on deaf ears, go here first to discover which regulator governs your own IP:

Isn't it a shame when communications break down and things turn to this. GT should use this as a steep learning curve to bring their customer care back up to spec in my humble opinion. x

I simply think GT have taken on too much and insolvency firms should limit active caseloads to a kevel where customer care doesnt go down the pan.

I agree Paul. The downward spiral seems to have started with BE's caseload turning out to be in a greater mess than anticpiated. This was then compounded by VAT and PPI .... THEN they took on ( among others) RSM before recovering first!

Alibongo, I appreciate your frustration, but negatively identifying Karol, is not the way to go. She comes on here, in her time, after a day of it, to try and assist people the best she can. It seems to me, she is as busy out of work as she is in it. I'm sure, if you have contacted her, she will respond.

However, you are correct, with your criticisms of Grant Thornton. They, by and large, seem to be a very disorganised company. They are spinning so many plates, with various issues, PPI, takeovers etc, without pausing to actually organise themselves.

Thanks everyone for your comments and sympathy. I'm sure Karol is a real diamond and will get back to me when she has a moment as i'm sure she is busy.

It's always the same that the good guys get swamped as they are the only ones willing to help resolve things.

I'll be more patient and wait for Karol to find a window to help me.

Thanks for the links Foggy, i don't want to complain yet and want to give them the chance to salvage the situation but its good info to hold on to.

I even wrote to the insolvency practitioner at grant thornton personally this morning at his email address in hope that he would like to resolve the matter but not heard anything yet. Im living in hope as a few more days are neither here nor there(ever the optimist hey).

Hoorah hoorah I just got a very detailed response from a wonderful person called Claire who explains what's gone wrong and how its going to 'hopefully' be rectified.

I wish there was a newsletter/alert that explained this to save me (and probably others) from hounding them for answers.

That's all I craved, just for someone to explain what the holdup is and how its going to be rectified. I can't thank Claire enough for taking the time to tell me what's happening.

If anyone is with Grant Thornton make sure you sign and return your letters which you will receive in the next few weeks following a creditors meeting) which hopefully will allow Grant Thornton to close IVA's and then recover and distribute any PPI afterwards.

See what a small piece of communication can achieve. :-)

There you go Ali ---- work has been going on quietly --- but, as you say, a bit of communication does go a long, long way :-)
