We have nothing to lose if we went bankrupt - its only we have a ccj which has a bailiff which is waiting on this iva to go ahead or fail - £1400 is a lot of money to save up when you have 4 young children and will take time to get together and then the bailiff turning up when he feels like it just makes my skin crawl - trying to explain who he is to 4 kids not something i want to have to go through to be honest - alot of my debt was due to my ex violent husband who took everything out in my name and now all were just trying to do is the morally right thing, we want to be debt free and want to be able to at least give something back, in bankruptcy they will get nothing obviously if bankruptcy official receiver accepts our i & e as it is now which ive been told previously is highly unlikely as they are a lot more stringent with their allowances - not sure how true this is though? x W
It is awful that the costs of bankruptcy are so prohibitive but maybe it is the best thing if you can raise the money. It sounds like you have tried everything and now is the time to look after the family.
The bankruptcy I&E may not be much different than the IVA and the payments are only three years rather than five so while I hope the IVAs get turned around do not disregard the option of bankruptcy if it fails.
hi spanna sorry to hear your iva has been rejected, i am also with mels team. My iva was rejected last april because of votes and adjourned for 2 weeks the same as you i felt sick on hearing the news but mels team turned it around by chasing votes and it was excepted 2 days later, hope things turn out well for you also.
So sorry - try and stay positive ...let Mel's team try and work their magic a little more and hopefully come next week you will be hearing more positive news...try and have a nice weekend with your family xx

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
We havent disregarding bankruptcy and weve always said that if we have to then we have to - we need to be debt free for our family - alot of money though - should be provision for bankruptcy that you can pay fees if your deemed to have to pay into a ipa or ipo x I bet people have got into more debt to pay for bankruptcy x
I think you are probably right spanna - the cost of bankruptcy is high in my opinion and as you say the option to pay this over time would support alot of people in this position.
Try not to think this is the route you are now heading in...I still have faith you will be in an IVA next week xxx

Thank you everyone for your support and your positivity it really does mean a lot x just hard to think positively right now x im hoping Mel and her team can work a miracle for us and our family x
Very sad to learn of the outcome spanna. Not sure if this helps but my close friend's oin the process of filing for bankruptcy with the help of CAB. They'd alerted him to a fund for people in the teaching profession and they helped him to successfully apply. Don't know if it's just in Brum or for the profession as a whole. Just made me wonder whether there might be other sources of funding you could apply for if not this one. Hopefully it won't come to it, but sounds like no bad thing in your situation. Sincerely hoping you get the outcome that works for you and your family. x

Spanna I am so sorry to hear your Iva has been rejected but I am sure Mel and her team will do everything in their power to get it approved very soon. xx
It is really annoying when you see a vindictive creditor scuppering someones chances of dealing with their debts in a responsible manner. We will work our hardest to try and get this person to change their mind, and also secure votes from those creditors who chose not to submit a proxy today.
My staff take it very personally when a case they have been working on gets rejected - it is very rare in this firm and our clients know we will do all we can to get the position reversed.
Thank you Mel - The ccj bloke will not change his mind - he put my families life's in danger and the court went 50/50 and he isn't interested in the money at all he is just plain nasty - i mean he locked us out of our house when i had a 2 day old baby and 3 other children - disgusting human being in my eyes! I really hope we can turn the rest around and get them to vote in our favour x Thank you for your help Mel means a lot to my family x
