Ive emailed Marc today and its not as doom and gloom as I first felt however we need to get one of our biggest creditors to turn there vote positive then it will go through - however they are asking for 40p in the £ and were offering 17p in £ so over double - I understand that they want a good return however we simply cannot run to what they are asking. Got to wait to Friday when Mels back in the office to see if she can perform a miracle to get them to change their mind x fingers crossed x They will get more than 17p in the £ as i have missold ppi which will be sorted out at the end - obviously when i start full time work the iva payment will increase and if my partner gets promoted also more money - but they dont see that i suppose. Hope Charleygirl is ok x

keep your chin up spanna - I am quite sure this will get resolved for you like you say in Bankruptcy they will get nothing the waiting must be a nightmare for you & your family, I have been constantly logging on this week to check for any updates from you or from Debt tired.
Hopefully will hear from Charlygirl soon with a possitive result. x

Hi everyone,

Sorry for getting back to you sooner. I wasn't able to take the day off work and the one day when all the guys decide to be in the office is today. (Im normally alone for weeks on end) So haven't been able to log on.
I have just posted my up date on the IVA approved message board!!!

So glad it's over, but haven't been able to feel happy about it due to being at work and being kept busy.

Spanna, I do hope Mel can work her magic for you. I just don't understand creditors, they will see reason soon xx

The one thing which upsets me with this, is that it is clear to see what DI you have why can't they just be happy with that. If you went bankrupt they would get nothing. I can't believe how unreasonable they are being. Wanting to almost double your div....I don't even know you Spanna, but I'm am really upset about this. (Can you tell) lol....I know everyone's situation is different but lower div's than yours have been accepted before now.

Positive thoughts to you and the family xx

Continued good luck Spanna!!!

Congratulations Charlygirl, I too had been wondering what happened and was getting a bit concerned that we hadn't heard anything from you yet. Am pleased it's good news.

Hi Spanna, my husband has just heard from Marc that the creditor(s) are not budging. We were going for a F&F IVA and they are arguing that the children will leave university in a couple of years and they would otherwise get their income. Maybe, assuming they can get jobs that is. But who knows what will happen in 2 years' time. My husband might lose his job again or get ill again (his redundancy, depression and Crohn's are a large part of the reason we are where we are). Or interest rates could go up, in which our mortgage would go up dramatically.

Our dividend is low - only 9p - but there is not much room for movement and we have already brought down some of our costs to be in line with the allowances. Looks like this is heading for Mel's hands now so hope she can share her magic between us. Oh dear...

Lovely to hear its a positive post Charlygirl and it winds me up too charlygirl that they cant even allow you to have a small luxuary to be able to watch a film on sky or a nice cookery program - oh well back to basics - if mine gets accepted ive got a pile of post it notes with numbers 1 - 60 on them and i will take number 60 off and bin when made first payment and have a countdown x 5 years is a long time but well get there and we will be better people for it too x when i get that offer of credit again in the future i will laugh at them and say no your alright thanks x I am already teaching my children the benefits to budgeting and being debt free - they know the effects of debt as we are living it x Anyway I'm sure Mel will be delighted to get on the blower on Friday and hopefully sort it out for us x Good luck x Well done everyone x Thank you everyone for your support and best wishes really does mean a lot x

The thing is I was quite relaxed until now. Had been in a state before my meeting but then felt reassured that it would get sorted. I'm rather edgy now, and starting the "what if"s...

only natural debt tired ...we would all be doing that in your situation ...try and stay focused on what you will do once it is approved - until a final decision is made no point thinking anything else x

The what if for us is bankruptcy and while i don't have too much of a problem with it (except the whole moral right thing to do) - i don't particularly want my 4 children to experience it, they've been through enough with dv and da from their father x So im hoping Mel will be able to make them see sense for us both x we are both on edge until this gets sorted out unfortunately but it is better than the alternative being chased by creditors and bailiffs x
