I just thought I would give an update to let you know that 7 years after starting an IVA I have finally received my completion certificate!

The first 6 years were not too bad but this last one has been a bit of a roller coaster.

I have had my battles with Cleardebt for the last year and it has been very confrontational by both parties.

That said, when we did finally agree on a resolution, I cannot fault David Mond for personally keeping me updated on each step of the closure process.

The only advice I would offer to him and any IVA company for that matter is:
1. Don’t say you are going to do something and then not deliver. (I was told in February 2012 by Jayne Brown of Cleardebt that my Completion Certificate would be with me within a month or two)
2. If a client does not agree with you then using the “NUCLEAR” option should be the last tool in the bag and not the first. I refer to “Sign this or I will make you Bankrupt”

I am not one for holding a grudge so will take this opportunity to wish David and his team at ClearDebt all the best for the future.

My thoughts are very much with those with other companies still waiting for their cases to be closed!

Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

Congrats Heretoday, fortunately for you you're one of the lucky ones. This past February like yourself was 7 years since taking our IVA. We finalised it last year same month and still nothing!!!

Very frustrating!!

Congratulations from me. Also to re-iterate Andy's post, please do continue to post yourself as it is beneficial to people currently in an IVA and those thinking of going in to an IVA.

Hearing from both experts and IP's in addition to those currently in a debt resolution plan does assist people greatly.

best,

Sam

Thank you all! This forum has certainly helped me through some turbulent times and I am glad to be out of it the other end!

For those who find themselves in a similar position, my advice would be to make an almighty nuisance of yourself to your IP. I am not sure if it will speed the process up at all but if you have to suffer as a result of your IVA being kept open then I see no reason not to share this suffering with your IP!
