I started my IVA in Feb 2007 and managed to complete it a little early ( May 2011). I have just accessed my experian credit report and agree with everything i've seen except for one loan that was included in the IVA. It states my default date is Sept 2010, can this be right? Does this mean i cannot clear my name until 2016 default- wise or is there something i can do? I just don't understand how it could take more than 3.5 years after the iva was started for something to start it's default? Any advice greatly appreciated.
No NJ - your credit file is wrong. You should raise a Notice of Dispute about this account and get them to remove it. They have 56 days. (28 from the time you tell them to contact the creditor then 28 to correct it). All defaults should be from the date of initiation of IVA. It is scandalous the way these organisations work. Best of luck.
Completed IVA - August 2012 pheeeeeeeeeew
Only my opinion - Nothing More Nothing Less
Hi. As T.A says, the defaults should always date from the inception of the IVA and should be corrected to that date -- or, in this case, removed as the 6 years has passed. You will probably have to contact the Data Controller at the creditor concerned and point out that they are in violation if they do not correct the error.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
they will need the certificate of completion for sure, that would have been the reason,
allot of people talk about letting things drop off the credit file, that's silly advice...because by sending off certificate of completion they will mark account as settled or partially settled and no one can chase you
time is always the answer, stay focus and you will reach the end all in good time
the reason why some accounts are not updated are because they have either written off debt after learning about your IVA or sold your debt
hence the default dates after IVA
time is always the answer, stay focus and you will reach the end all in good time
