Hi george

Yes it will stay on your file for the full 6 years from when the IVA was accepted.

6 years but a trace will be shown for 8 years but should make no difference after 6 years, depenfs how close an underwritter looks at your credit file

Or forever if you get caught up in this PPI malarkey! I completed in November 2012 and am still waiting for my certificate of completion because of outstanding PPI claims. Until I get the CC, it's still on my credit reports :(
IVA ending February 2012

My understanding is the same as rach80...util that completion certificate is received and IVA fully closed it will remain on your credit file ...even if this goes past the 6th anniversary.

People keep posting 6 yrs, this is not correct if you have not formally completed at year six, certificate in hand then they will simply reinstate the IVA on your credit file until you send in your certificate. I am 6yrs 4mths and still waiting for my certificate to arrive so I can formally have it removed

The IVA will stay on file regardless of the six years if it remains active. Six years is the minimal amount of time. An example being if you IVA is over 7 years it will remain there for 7 years plus - until the completion certificate is issued

Where did you get that information from Jimmy? I can't find any reference to it anywhere else and the CRAs don't suggest this is the case.
IVA Completed!

Final payment made November 2011.

CoC received 12/10/12.

It's definitely 6 years providing the arrangement has concluded. The only time it would appear on your file for longer is if it's still active.

Of course what you say is correct but in true IVA terms it should drop off after six years, it's just that closing off IVA's has got out of hand and I believe it's time a regulator put things back on track, to tie in with statute that being it's (IVA's)intent.

That's to say what has not be recovered by six years that's just tough luck and it get closed off, chat ends. It's fair and reasonable as which statute lends itself, in the same respect.
