8 months later still no closure. As of April 30th it no longer exists on my credit file as it will be 6 years.
Cant contact GT Closures as they have no phones, which contravenes health and safety in an office.
Can only use emails which take the maximum of 10 working days for a reply which is robotic and useless and gives you no information.
If you have agreed to the new terms and conditions to speed up the closure, their not going to court with it until all clients have replied. So that will actually slow your closure down a few more months. So if your thinking of using Grant Thornton. .Don't. Your closure appears guaranteed to take a year or more if your lucky.
Other company's have managed closures in 4 months including ppi's.
Worst customer service I have ever had the mispleasure of talking to.

There must be some action that people can take against them as they are literally ruining peoples lives. Action that can avoid having to contact Grant Thornton. Ive emailed them again and I expect to wait 10 working days before I get my reply which will be generic.

GT Closures, do have phones as people have received calls from them, but they don't give out the number.
Try emailing Karol putting IVA forum in the subject line, ask her for an update and a projected timescale for your case.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

Already emailed karol and it wont be the first time. Im not going to hold my breath waiting for a reply. And when it finally comes it will be generic brush off spiel as usual. The only thing that will have changed will be that I will have been waiting longer.

Have emailed IPA and FSA none of which I ever recieved word from. These people expect letters sent to various departments each with 28 days reply taking up to 3 months, I dont see how it helps when you have already waited 8 months
Just phoned GT and was fobbed off with VAT rubbish. Funny how other companies seem to manage ok.

Getting on for six months for me since final payment. I have signed all the letters they have requested but still GT can't even guess when I will get my completion cert. Do not get an IVA, I wish I had had just gone bankrupt, this is a never ending torture!!!! GT should be ashamed to treat people like this.

They should be able to give you a better idea of closure timescale than this. This sort of thing should not be putting off people who are considering taking out an IVA.

Melanie,

Sadly it definitely will put people off. In my case i have a court order which is enforcable when my IVA completes. The trigger point being upon receipt of my completition Certificate. This relates to sale of a former matrimonial home so if GT arent going to provide me with this in a reasonable timeframe i will be taking the matter through the courts. They are a disgrace the way they are treating people. Just because they are a big company doesnt give them the right to mess about with people's lifes!!!

Anarchy, with all due respect, this blanket advice helps no-one. Everybody has different circumstances and different requirements.

An IVA, per se, might well be the best solution in a given situation. The moral here is to research before you chose your company -- some are good, some not so, and some suit some people and not others.

I am getting more and more shocked at some of the postings on this forum. 2 years and 2 months to get a case closed is astonishing.
