Trying to get cheaper car insurance via comparison websites, but when I go to finalise quote, the site is saying "we are unable to offer you this insurance" is this because of IVA? tried esure - m&s - sheilas wheels etc..

Hi

Did it ask about your IVA ? if not then I don't think it will be because of this

Some comparison sites do ask -- then you have loads of rejections, but ringing the companies direct often produces different results.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Did mine on a comparison site and had no problems, however I paid the full amount and didn't ask for monthly payments, your problem could be if your asking for monthly payments. As Foggy says ringing the companies and you may have better luck.

This is the message I get when trying to buy..

Are you asking for monthly payments? if so the companies may well do a credit check which could be why the quote isn't being offered. I'd still call the company and ask for a quote but the price may not be quite as good as the comnparison site prices as these sites often have an arrangement with the insurance companies where they can offer a better price.

In the past when I have used comparison sites it has left a search print on my credit file so unfortunately it may be due to your credit history! As the others have said try phoning instead!

I have never had any problems while in my iva paying insurance monthly , I have used compare the market and go compare with no problems, I have been insured with kwik fit , Churchill and m&s all while in an IVA , my son has just been accepted for monthly payments and his annual premium was nearly £1600 (new driver) , I have just got a copy of my credit file and all the searches show from when we got quotes for him , and even with multiple defaults on our file he was still accepted for monthly payments. I know this doesn't help your situation but it inclines me to think that it's not your iva that's causing the problem so probably best to give the companies a call as suggested :)

I hope you manage to find car insurance very soon, makes me wonder why some have problems others don't never consistent.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
