Today it will be two years since our last payment was paid to GT, still no closure and never thought we would be still waiting. We have been told that our case is being treated as a special case instead of being included in the mass closure that may or may not happen . I sometimes think I really don't care any more as it has been so long now.
Lets hope now they are treating it as a special case it will get some special treatment. Don't give up geordie123.

Although It's a desperate position to be in and I hope this is resolved for you soon, it does highlight that anyone looking to starting an IVA should fully research which Company they choose.
This forum should surely highlight the firms that are proactively dealing with the PPI issue and give an insight into how effecient they will be at managing cases and any other potential issues that may arise in the future. Unfortunately it looks like you have been landed with the worst case scenario in terms of a Company choice and a 2 year wait is outrageous. Try to remain positive Geordie.
The forum always advises that posters take the advise of 2 or 3 individual companies before making any commitment. www.iva.com is a place where anyone can leave a review on companies and I for one always refer a poster looking for a solution to this. Word of mouth I feel goes a long way too and anyone can ask who we as individuals are with and that also goes a long way in some making their decision.
I do realise that some posters do take the first lifeline handed to them and 5 years ago when I started my IVA PPI wasn't an issue, first it was the VAT issue now the PPI, wonder what if anything will be next?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
There is always the issue of doing all the research, finding a firm you are happy with and then being sold to one you initially rejected !!! (story of my life, as it turns out)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Thanks everyone for your support. It's right what you say about choosing the right company to go with . We chose Blair Endersby and this was a mistake as we ended up with Grant Thornton almost at the end of our 5 years. We then had to send in 4 years pay slips etc as Blair Endersby had never done a review since year 1. This must have been an omen of the nightmare to come.
Pen a letter of complaint to your MP, or attend his/her surgery. Seems no amount of complaints to GT or their regulators ever get satisfaction or even an acknowledgement. McCambridge Duffy and Mel's team don't seem to be affected by the 'so called' VAT and PPI issues as they have no problems issuing CC's within a very reasonable time scale, other than customer care and an A1 team what have they got that a huge firm like GT can not produce? Answers on a £20 note addressed to the charity of your choice. [:D]
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
We have been troubled by both the VAT and PPI issues, but worked out a policy for dealing with both at a relatively early stage and have stuck to our plan. This may have been easier for us as we are a smaller firm, than some of the ones we regularly see criticised on the forum.
