Thank you all, I feel so much more positive today, it really helps talking about it and knowing that you are not the only one going through this. All very good advice and I will definitely speak to others as so many have advised this.

After reading several threads on the forum, I honestly think of this as a positive step, taking control rather than burying my head and living from month to month. So stressful though.

Bank account almost open, just need to get my ID checked at local branch (applied over phone, forms came today). Think I need to arrange for my pay to go into partner's account this month (28th) as I don't think will have new co-op account no. in time for payroll cut-off. Will need to contact all utility/dd companies (not creditors) before then to make sure payment comes from right account.

Thanks again all. may not be as positive tomorrow but thanks for getting me through today

Hi whyalwaysme,

I am currently at the proposal stage, its all very scary and you with highs and lows along the way. I must admit though since I have made this decision to go for an IVA I don't wake every morning with debt as my first thought. Just hope to get it passed now.

Good luck and stay strong :)

Debt used to get up with me in the morning and go to bed with me at night. So I used to sleep during the day.
Why and Stel I post on here to see people like you making these bold steps, because I was there and never believed there was a way out of our misery, and I know your life could be so much happier.
Onwards and upwards[:)]
