Welcome to the forum. My advice is to contact a mortgage broker who deals with the whole of the market and one who has experience of helping people who have had previous debt issues.
We have two experts on the forum who offer such a service.
If you look to the left you will see a link that says 'ask experts a question' ...scroll down and you will fid Ryan from Zebra or Shaun.
Ryan comes highly reommended and has successfully helped over a dozen forum members gain a foot on the property ladder ...me included.
Good luck.

Hi Gina. As Luluj said you are best speaking to a broker such as Ryan. Dont try youself as you will most likley end up ruining your credit file with rejections.
You will most likley need a fairly large deposit and as far as time scales go you should be ok as long as your IVA is not showing on any of the three major companies credit files. Also make sure all the defaults from your IVA have dropped off before you even try to apply for anything.
Good luck.

Hi
Great advice above, you must use a whole of market mortgage broker rather than going it alone
Good luck

Would also say use a broker, we managed to get a mortgage offer a few months after our iva dropped off our record with a 10% deposit
