Hi All

Just thought I would post a quick note into my regret for my aggressive improper attitude on the forum last night.

I have suffered the regret all day, and I don't know why I was being like that. Suppose life as I know it, has suddenly stopped last week because of my business choices.

I know everything is going to change now, not only for me but for my family. One minute I am thinking my life was a great success, and know realising I have failed big time is a big thing to deal with.

If I go bankrupt I will never have the opportunity to start over, so IVA I believe is the only way.

I hope you all can forgive my improper behaviour and accept that is not my normal behaviour, and after being like that it made me feel a whole lot worse.

If its any good to know I went to training tonight and went begging for a sparing session in the ring thought it would make me feel better. He was only a young super light weight amateur, but he knocked the living daylights out of me.

I never intended to cause offence to anyone.

so a big sorry to anyone if I did.

I am genuinely sorry, and have followed your advise and spoke to another could of practitioners, and I found them I lot more helpful and understanding.

Thanks for all you help.

All the best for the future.

It takes a big man to apologise Ben10 ( my son is into him too). I hope you get better help from the other IP firms.

Out of interest which comnpany did you speak to a few days ago ( the less than helpful one) ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Ben. It takes a big person to say sorry and I am sure the other posters appreciate your words. Debt is stressful and people do lash out but I hope you get your situation resolved at an affordable level without penalising your family.

Hi Ben10.
I read your post last night and whilst not agreeing with how or what you said, between the anger I could see that you were going through the very feelings I went through just 6 weeks or so ago.
Through advice on this forum I found the answer to every question that was keeping me awake at night.
In those 6 weeks I've opened a new bank account, transferred over all direct debits (and cut a few down at same time) stopped paying my creditors and submitted all paperwork to Stepchange and just waiting for proposal now. This first month has taught me to budget like never before, hunting out bargains and planning ahead. With the savings made from not paying creditors for first time, I'm 2 weeks from payday, still got some cash in the bank and have enough put to one side for car service next week and eldest's prom outfit.
I wouldn't say it's been easy but just about manageable. But best of all, for the first time in ages I can sleep at night and not wake up feeling sick to the stomach at the thought of all those mounting debts.
Hope it works out for you

It doesn't take a big man to apologies, just one who regrets there actions.

I don't want to give the name of the first IP I spoke to foggy, as with my initial communication with everyone on here, I think I may have been abrupt, rude and offensive. In hindsight I probably got what I deserve.

I think am on the right track now, and hope the IP will answer all my future questions. I know the IP has split interests, but primarily (I hope)the interest of the insolvent, so that they have successful IVA's and subsequent future work. Think I am starting to learn to look for a growing practice, NOT a big one.

Hi Ben,
I've seen you post today online and was unable to reply.
Having also started now a IVA, I had a copy of the 2012 guidelines you were asking, if you still interested in checking any figures or anyone else. Please try this link.

Takes a lot to apologise - and we've all felt like you do Ben so hopefully you will now be on the right track to finding a solution that helps you and your family.

Luigi - that's fab - have saved it so I can always have access to it in the future.

Ben - although the school trip figure hasn't changed I suppose by linking this and the hobbies element for children would this cover their after school clubs?

Hi Luigi
Got that link, and it works fine. Thanks.
Speaking with the most recent IP's however, they seem quite happy to up one down another etc. etc., but its good to know what the other side of the fence expect.

I am not sure on this but I guess EVERY IVA that has been accepted, has been done on the reduced amount on the initial proposal?

The most recent posts seem to sugest but a massive amount. 70odd pound, (wt# deep breaths, deep breaths)

I would love to know what others have experienced...

kazza

glad you are on tonight. I think the majority of my outburst yesterday was at you.

my most sincere apologies, and hopefully by your last post you haven't taken it to hart. I don't want you to say its ok because I know its not. But I truly respect you to have replied to this.

With regard to your question, unfortunately no the allowance is what it is. I haven't read the 2013 guidelines yet, but talking with ip's today hair cuts and cloths should cover it (lets just hope I don't put on weight :-)

Blimey Ben 10,have never read a post as aggresive or as rude as that before.

I can completly understand your frustrations when trying to get infomation quickly as you can, because it probley feels as if everything is falling down around you.
Like the other members have said on here, these people are here to HELP YOU. If you do stay on the forum over time you will see that thats all everybody wants to do.

Yeah its not nice having to change your life style, and yeah our kids and how we bring them up are important to of all of us.

OK, things buisness wise are not good at the moment but so many succcessful buisness people have been able to turn things around and start again after going down the pan the first time, and no doubt you will be able to do the same.

There is so much important things to read and learn on this site as you go along the debt free route you would regret being thrown off.

Good luck, and stay focused.

Baldy

To respond to your last sentence:

From experience on here not every IVA gets allowances reduced on acceptance. A great number do get the IP's fees reduced (which doesn't really impact on the debtor). In my case, though, I had £56 for public transport (the then wife didn't drive, car at work with me all day, she used the bus). The creditors (never having used the bus) reduced this to £28. To be honest I was happy with that as I thought I was sticking my neck out asking for any in the first place!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
