Different IP's take a different view as to the need for a TV. Some will allow a break, many won't. I imagine Payplan might fall into the latter camp.

Many of us have resorted ( successfully, I might add) to getting replacement goods via things like local facebook selling pages and gumtree. Older TV's are often given away ---- OK, not state of the art but will suffice as a stop gap.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Try going to your local TV shop - alot of the large older silver tv's are still in good working order and people just trade them in to get flat screens. They will probably be grateful for you to take them off their hands
IVA accepted 31.05.11 and 2 reviews DONE!!! Wow,nearly approaching my third. can't believe how time has flown!

Hope you manage to source a TV mab, if you live nearby to me I could give you a portable although not modern is in excellent working order to tide you over until you get something sorted.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks, that is lovely of you Lesley. Not sure what we are going to do, it is going to be a long school holiday with 3 kids and no tv! Too scared to ask for a part payment break! Will wait and see what tomorrow brings x

I would talk to your IP and guage their reaction - you may be surprised. Equally free-ads, facebook, ebay are all good ways of getting second hand items at low prices - we recently picked up a fridge freezer for £5.00 for a friend - when we got there it was 12 months old and hardly been used !

Mab, good luck speaking to you IP. When you say your main TV is broken do you mean you've got one in another room that you could use that until you sort something out?
