Despite all the negative reviews I read on here about GT and the completion certificate I am pleased to say that this morning my completion paperwork arrived in the post. My IVA came to an end on 2nd July and they have sent my the completion paperwork today 05/10/2013 it is dated the 30/09/13 so all I can say is thank you Grant Thornton you were great whilst in the IVA and have sent my completion paperwork in about 3 months I can not belive it I am so happy it feels strange to know my IVA is at an end after all this time.

Hi adam090376

Great news on receiving your Certificate. We also received our closing letter today from GT after our file was closed on 24th September 2013 but I can see nothing in the paperwork that states 'Completion Certificate' or 'Certificate of Due Completion'.

I have the initial letter, the final report, a blank piece of A4 paper?? and a statement on another piece of paper discharging our supervisor under the rules of the Insolvency Act 1986 because our arrangement has concluded.

Don't laugh!... but I think the Certificate is missing!...it's not with yours is it?

I would be grateful if you could let me know what the Certificate has on it.
Many Thanks
Katy

Glad to hear you have your completion certificate. I do however wonder how GT decide which IVAs get closed, or is it just some random lottery style process and you have to hope you get picked? Approaching 1 year and I know others have been waiting longer...

Hi Borneo
Like you got a letter a report and a letter that states notice the the iva are fully implemented from what I understand this is the certificate of completion it is not a certificate as such just notice that all has been completed so you have same as me you are and like me as far as I am aware now IVA free.
Louiseh I don't know how the closing process works at GT my IVA had no PPI or property issues which could cause problems but I wish luck to all those still waiting might have a small drink tonight.

Louise -- I think it does depend upon PPI issues and how fast the creditors are in agreeing claims are settled -- a lot is beyond GT's control. However, they could make it easier for themselves ( and us) id they dealt with these issues in the same way as other firms.

Thanks for the reply adam090376.

As Melanie said on an earlier post she thought it was the Certificate but did state that it should have either 'Completion Certificate' or 'Certificate of Due Completion' on it.

Perhaps GT are sending out differently worded certificates now but I will be phoning them on Monday just to clarify this. I was surprised that no file reference number was on the paper just our names. This has always been the case with correspondence during the IVA.

Don't give up on getting your Certificate Louiseh...it is exactly 7 years to the month that our IVA started and we have been waiting for our Certificate from GT since July last year when they took over our file. Previous to this we were promised it the month before by Tenon!
I will let you know if GT tell me something different and thanks once again for your reply.
Katy

Hi Borneo
I will be calling them as well on Monday but the letter stated certificate of completion and that GT are no longer working on our behalf and that we are not bound by the IVA so that seems to say all is complete.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I will speak to GT on Monday (already sent an email) and I will ask them to clarify what is stated on their Closing Certificates.

We may well have the correct information but the wording appears different to what others have said on the forum.

I will keep you informed so all of you waiting for your Certificates are certain of receiving the correct documentation.

Fingers crossed...I do get the feeling that GT may finally be getting these delays with closure sorted now.

Thanks once again.

Hi Borneo, sounds like you could have the same paperwork we have just received. If it has a list of payments made to all creditors, it is more than likely the paperwork for the final meeting summary and not your completion certificate.

Just been on the phone now and had this confirmed, our cert will be with us very soon - apparently [;)]

Borneo and others

That's the same as I received in October 2012, and was accepted by the insolvency service and CRAs as the certificate, so you've got what you need.
IVA Completed!

Final payment made November 2011.

CoC received 12/10/12.
