Hi - due to hubby being made redundant we had a variation meeting to accept payments to date to be accepted as F&F in May. This was approved n we were advised that DFD would sort o/s PPI out with EIF (all paperwork EIF needed has been confirmed as being received). I emailed and on 16th Oct it was confirmed that they needed to apply for a further variation in order for the completion certificate to be issued pending closure of the PPI claims, DFD Advised the paperwork would be with us in a few weeks. Not had anything yet so emailed again and we are now being told DFD cannot advise when we will receive the variation paperwork and it will take 8-10 months to sort the CC!!! We have done everything we hv been asked but now we feel we are just being left hanging. This is so frustrating !!! Its bad enough hubby has lost his job but this is just making things worse. AAAAARGH!!!

This may be frustrating but at least the IVA is for all intents and purposes over. Hopefully DFD can resolve their issues quicker and are saying 8-10 months as worst case scenario.

Not sure why they need another variation meeting to seek closure of your case - the regulatory guidance on PPI issued earlier on this year gave directions on how cases could be closed, for instance by taking an assignment of the claim rights if IPs felt that they could not rely upon a continuing trust.

I don't think that an IP would have the legs to stand on if they claimed additional money, once a debtor had complied with all of their contractual and statutory obligations - but I think this is yet untested.

I don't see why you cant have a variation to close. I had one ppi claim outstanding after all payments made(still is ongoing after nearly 2 years)The variation is to close the case but if any refunds come back from ppi then they still go into your IVA until 100p in the £ is achieved.
I finished payments in oct last year and despite asking and chasing DFD and EIF about 1 x ppi claim outstanding they wouldn't help.
after posting on here about it in june, Judith from DFD picked it up, got a variation arranged for the 5th August and I had my completion certificate by the 9th august.
Its not great that to get a result I had to post on here, despite repeated requests, but hopefully Judith will pick up this post and get you sorted.
