I need some advice please on whether to make an official complaint against GT. My last IVA payment went out in Feb 2011 and we have completed all the PPI paperwork. We are still waiting for our completion certificate. I was told when I rang up 3 months ago, it was with the closure team and would be with me in September or October at the LATEST. Nothing! I phoned 3 weeks ago ad was told it would be with me within two weeks for definite, in fact the man actually PROMISED ME. 3 weeks later and nothing. I rang today and was told they couldn't log on the system to the closure dept and the closure dept would ring me back within 10 days. I am really angry that I have been given false hope on a few occasion's. What can I do please??

Hi
I would definitely file an official complaint. We have been promised our certificates will be issued by Friday 6 December, but if we haven't received them by the 13th, then we will certainly be going down the complaints gateway without a doubt. My faith is still in Karol at the moment, but we will see come 13 December.

Hi
You are in danger of having to wait 3 years for your completion certificate from Grant Thornton
It is simply a disgrace, a total disregard for customer service and about time the Insolvency Service got a grip of this appalling situation

I wouldn't mind but they keep giving me false hope with dates to expect the cc. I am running to the door every time the post comes!! We can't move on with our lives!

Have they told you it has been closed with a date? They have told me mine was closed on the 26th of October and I would get all the paperwork within 10 working days! And still nothing. They are a joke and I would suggest anyone entering an IVA with them think very carefully as the 5 or 6 years turns into a lot longer. It's simply not fair that they are allowed to treat people like this.

Same here. I was told via email (after months of pestering) that my case was officially closed on 1st November and my documents (that are posted externally for some reason) would be with me within 10 working days. Well, that time is up and no documents so no progress with my credit file like I wanted. I've sent them (another) stiff email.

I emailed GT to find out when my IVA would be closed to find out it closed 3 weeks earlier, only I hadn't been informed. I was emailed the information straight away and copies followed within a day by post. Unfortunately my name has been miss spelt on the documentation, so I can't do anything with it anyway. I have asked for replacements but am still awaiting a response. So a brief few minutes I thought it was all over, then I noticed the spelling mistake. To say I'm not happy is an understatement. I don't know if things a progressing with the insolvency register because I don't know if any or if the correct information as been passed on by GT.
Just Wonderful

Ive been posting on other similar threads. I was with MDC who have passed their IVA files to GT. I have my completion paperwork but MDC didntsend it to the IR so I still have an IVA even though I have paperwork showing it ias complete. Have spoken with GT who acknowledge that my IVA is complete and I dont have to do anything. But, they wont submit the completion paperwork until I go through their PPI claims process. I tell them no if its complete its complete from the date signed by the IP on the cert. of completion. They say no its active. I laighed, how can it be complete and active? No answer apart from you have to go through our PPI claims dept. to get access to completions dept...
I have now contacted Isolvency Register directly. Maybe if you have the correct paperwork they can help. Certainly hoping they can sort this for me and that what I have sent them is enough.

I was tolda by an IR staff member that my IVA would stay on there until 3 months after the official completion date (1st Nov 2013) i.e. would disappear on the 1st Feb 2014 or thereabouts. I questioned it and asked if it didn't behave like the 6 year default rule (my IVA started september 2007) and was told no. However, just over a day later of me providing scanned proof of completion my entry has disappeared from the online search results??? Good but...what???
