Hi,
I got a question. I completed my iva in aug 2012 with money debt and credit. I recieved a completion certificate and final report. I sent these to the insolvency register and my name as come off the register. I have had it removed from my credit report as well.

Today which is 16 months since I paid my final payment I recieved a letter from Grant Thorton about that the IVA has been transfered to them. They state "I am aware that your former supervisor had issued a report to you advising that you have fulfilled your obligations, but that it was not possible to finalise your case as, following the VAT Tribunal decision in the Paymex case, a potenttial VAT refund was pending. Having now had the opportunity to conduct a review of your case, I consider you also may have a potential entitlement to compensation for missold Payment Protection insurance"

The paperwork they are talking about is the paperwork that I sent to the insolvency services to remove my name from the register.

Grant Thorton also state that the terms of the IVA are not effected in anyway.

Having read the letter several times I'm under the impression that they want my permission for a PPI claim to be carried out. Which the creditors have approved.

My question is will my IVA reappear on the insolvency register if I agree to the ppi claim? Even though I have managed to get it removed with the paperwork that money debt and credit sent me.

Your IVa is gone and is now lost in history once the 6yr period is finished and you taken off the register.
Unless you have signed a form allowing further investigations to be carried out previously then GT are pissing in the wind hoping to make you sign a form that makes them more money.
Did your IVA include the PPI as an asset?
I,d wait for a expert to clarify a few points but GT are wel known for pulling this kind of trick.

Your name will not appear again on the register and there is little GT can do to force you to sign anything. However, you could say you will help them in return for a cut of the proceeds and see what they say.

GT offered me whilst in my IVA all statutory intrest on any PPI with 30% going to thier preffered partners EIC who will pursue the claim and the rest going to the creditors.
Now if the creditors have been paid off why should they or EIC recieve anything? (GT will threaten wrath of the gods breach of the IVA etc but since thier is no IVA they just would just be bullying)
I,d refuse to sign any letters giving them permission and would pursue it myself rather than line GT's pockets, its a relatively simple process which i beleive was explained on another section of this forum.

The problem is that the right to claim may well lie with GT and if Phil tries to claim the money could be offset or given to GT anyway. Now the IVA is over GT have little sanction should you refuse to work with them but have a chat and try and reach an accommodation all round.

GT new improved terms and conditions they would want him to sign will give them carte blanche to claim anything and increase recovered fee's for GT (standard GT letter they now send out).
I would think he would need his IVA terms looking at first but im still firmly on the side of giving GT nothing as they only bought his IVA to make them more money the IVA was closed and is history The Paperwork seems not to include PPI as an asset from what he.s said so far.
My advice is chat to them and commit to nothing and have someone read your IVA (theres several on here whose advice would be invaluable).
And if GT make any kind of silly threat or pressure tactic put the phone down on them.
