All I had was a call a couple of weeks ago and several times as it was an 'urgent matter they could not discuss with my wife', (she didn't have a IVA) with calling me at home when I'm at work and then on my mobile from the PPI company thats dealing with it for GT just to tell me they had found 4 (!!!) PPI claims for loans I had way before I even went into a IVA!
I've heard nothing back about anything from GT about any of this and not sure how the hell these issues can be resolved without the 'clients' who are us, being informed as to the outcome of this mass variation. My IVA is over and I handed over the last payment at the beginning of the month and on target as expected so as far as I'm concerned, I've stuck to my bit of the IVA contract so GT should stick to theirs and sort this mess out in a timely fashion. Its all very confusing what these variations are for and why they are happening as I've had no explanation in layman's terms and understanding it is very difficult to do when all you want is for it all to be over as quickly as possible.
Can someone please explain why, what, why these meetings are taking place and what they will achieve?
IVA completed!!! Looking forward to getting my life back! Stay positive and you'll get there in the end.

These variations are double edged. Primarily they are to formalise GT's authority to have any PPI refund made over to the IVA. Belt and braces really, as PPI is still a grey area under the law. If it turned out in the future that PPI wasn't actually payable into the IVA, that variation makes sure it IS payable. So no comeback in the future. Make of it what you will that GT feel they need this extra authority.

Also in these deeds are various changes to the terms and conditions which, among other things, seeks to increase their fees as well as a few small carrots to encourage you to sign.

As no-one has ever been told when their meeting has taken place ( or will take place) and, it seems, no-one has been informed of the outcomes unless they press for the information, the success rate or otherwise is not clear. But, I gather some have been refused by creditors and I can only guess why.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Thank you Froggy. Its all a very grey area. I really hope people who are thinking of a IVA will think about the issues of PPI before they sign anything!

Yes, very interesting Foggy hmmm. Still no contact from GT :(
I will continue to keep you all updated as and when. I really do hope that we GT clients on this thread and other threads are the exception to the rule with regard to the lack of communication from GT? If not I think I have just opened up a can of worms. Which means that a lot more of us GT clients, than we realise, will be adversely affected by this mass variation lark!

****UPDATE****
I have just received the email below from GT and from the weak response I can only deduce that I and 1000s of others (by sheer coincidence) did not receive this alleged notification.
I have requested a copy of this 'notification' and wait with baited breath for it to materialise.
In the meantime I still am non the wiser as to what affect this rejection will have on the closure of my case or existing cases with GT??
So moving on.... & on a lighter note I wish you all a very Happy Festive Break x

FROM GT: "You should have received written confirmation that your Mass Variation was rejected on 17 September 2013 and I apologise if you have not received this".

I can't say I'm surprised. I've resigned myself to being one of the 1000s.
Merry Christmas to one and all to.

Is this all that the email said?
