I am getting increasingly frustrated by DFD with regard to the release of information regarding my IVA closure. I made my last payment 6 months ago, but any time I enquire as to the status of my closure, I get fobbed off.
Can I request this information under the Freedom Of Information act?
Thanks Claire. My query revolves mainly around my frustration with not knowing what is going on with my closure. It feels as though I have no recourse. Do you think I need to go through DFD's complaints procedure and then Ombudsman it?
Hi Mouldy. After you have exhausted DFD's formal complaints procedure, assuming no joy, you will need to go to their regulators as the Ombudsman has no jurisdiction here.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
worth bearing in mind if you opt for a DSAR(Data Subject Access Request, you are the data subject), it's under the Data Protection Act, not the Freedom of Information Act (which applies to goverment departments and the like)
a DSAR will get you all the information they have, but they have 40 days to respond. I don't think the DSAR would speed up our completion certificate (it may actually delay it)
Thanks Martin. Any advice then, apart from what's already been mentioned? I here horror stories that I m trying to mitigate as much as I can. I signed a PPI disclaimer about 8 months ago which I was hoping would speed things up, so PPI should nt be a problem
