I made my last payment to DFD in June 2012, DFD are now saying nearly two years down the line that i need to sign some paperwork to receive my certificate and to allow them to continue to claim for PPI outside of the arrangement ? This can not be right ?

Hi Nathan. Right or not, this is the current situation with many firms. Although practice is divided.

Technically they do not need this paperwork to be able to issue the certificate and continue to deal with PPI under the continuing trust created by the IVA. However, it makes things tidier and easier for them if you sign over the rights to PPI to them and also means they do not need to rely upon your continued assistance outside of the IVA.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi and welcome

Best to sign so that you can receive your certificate and move on

Not good customer service when you think about it though

I am in a very similar position as Nathan. I made my last payment to DFD last July and agreed to the changes to the T&C's. A few days after this I got a letter saying that a variation meeting was set for the 24th April. A couple of days after this I got another letter saying that this meeting had been adjourned at the request of the creditors who need more time to prepare and register their votes.

Really? They have had 6 years to think about it!

Variation meeting is now on Tuesday 6th May (fingers crossed)
