I completed my IVA in April of this year and despite repeated requests to DFD as to when I will receive my Completion Statement, I keep getting told that there is a question outstanding over VAT and they are going to write to all of my creditors over this " by the end of August 2013". I know that this did not happen as one of my creditors is a family member who has heard nothing from DFD and not had a payment from them for over a year and a half!!! I am now thinking of taking legal action against DFD and reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman, has anyone else gone through this or is going through the same as me?

Hi Stuward and welcome to the forum

If you have a complaint to make against your IP firm, you should firstly invoke the firm's own complaints system and allow them to investigate further. If you then get no satisfaction, there is no point in referring this to the Financial Ombudsman, as this body does not deal with complaints against insolvency practitioners. You would need to refer this to your IPs own regulatory body, and you can find details of this in your IVA proposal or on the Insolvency Service's website.

Final meeting took place March 18th 2014 since then I have contacted DFD at least four times to be told I would be receiving my CC within a few days. I have had various excuses as to why this has not happened including "system failure", "are you paying higher or lower tax rate" and just being told the Completions Team will e-mail your certificate by the end of the week. The last excuse was last week and guess what...I received nothing. Phoned yesterday and was told someone would call me this afternoon at 1.00 pm... Did I receive a call NO. After six years and three months my nerves re now shattered by DFD's total lack of Customer Care....we have had your money, and In my case made £15k in fees. What do I have to do to end myself of this appealing lack of customer care after I have done everything that has been asked of me?

At last I have now received my CC, 1 year and 2 months after making my last payment. To those of you still waiting, I took advice from this site and kept on calling DFD week after week until the CC was issued. I would like to say that the Customer Services team are superb Karen, Simon,Laura Andrea, Jasmine and Shauna, just to mention a few who had to listen to my rantings. Thanks DFD.... Debt free at last and the paperwork to prove it. Good luck to all of you still going through the process, I never thought it would end...but it does and life does get better.
