Michael is a man well known for his modesty, but I felt I needed to share with forum posters that our very own Mr Peoples has been shortlisted for the "Insolvency Manager of the Year" at the forthcoming Insolvency and Rescue Awards 2014.

I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award in our profession, and he most definitely deserves to win. Michael and I worked together from 1999 to 2002 and we are very like minded in our flexible approach to problem solving and the care our clients need and deserve.

Michael is well-known for speaking his mind, and is never shy to express his opinions and wise words both publicly and privately. He is a credit to his firm, and the forum is very lucky to be able to share his contributions. I will personally be there in October to cheer him on, and am sure that forum posters will also want to send him our very best wishes.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Thanks very much to everyone and I have to admit I am chuffed to have been nominated never mind shortlisted. It is lucky there is a judging panel and not X Factor premium rate phone lines or my wife and mother would be running up huge bills as we speak!

I must also mention that Melanie and David Mond are up for personal insolvency practitioner of the year so best of luck to them both. It should be a good night but seeing the opposition I am not writing my speech just yet.
