At least you have found this forum before making a choice. I did not, I just went with one of the larger companies who were recommended I too knew very little about how IVA's worked. With the benefit of hindsight I would have chosen a smaller company as mentioned on this forum. There is very little personal service with the company that I am with and the IVA has been made more stressful than it needed to be.

It is good to get more than one opinion as often the advice conflicts or there are different views. Make sure and take the advice best for you and your family and best of luck with your proposal.

Hi,
Ok, read all the day work..that was hard going for some of it.

I have a question, both companies appear to want ID (which is fine) but one of them say it must be signed by some from a list of categories ? The other does not....

I was planning to give a photocopy of my passport but does that mean I need to get it signed by someone on the list ??

Strange why the ID criteria seem to be slightly different.........

Comments please

They are required to check your ID -- all companies should do this.

My paperwork was collected by a courier who checked that I was the person photographed in my passport.

Criteria on many things seem to differ from company to company.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yeah, it is one hell of a learning curve. Read it through -- have a break to let it rumble around in your head, then read it again. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you need to know the answers to before signing up.

This is only the supporting paperwork not the IVA. The terms of business seem fine but I'm really interested in the details and proposal that will be developed. I'm sure that will come if I sign up.

The I.D. can eb certified by any number of people as they do not need to know what it is for. Some clients say they need it for Sky or insurance renewal and get a teacher to certify. It is needed but will not hold a case up.

The paperwork does look daunting and any queries and make sure and discuss this with your IP firm. However, the bulk of IVAs are straightforward so good luck with the meeting of creditors.

All information is submitted and I'm waiting for the meeting date now.... Scary times... Solo nervous that the proposal will be rejected..... Also struggled with a new bank account but I think I have one now..... Can 't wait for a confirmed date for the meeting now.
