I was with GT and also in an interlocking IVA worse in my case as my husband had been out of work before the IVA so would not have been eligible. When we seperated I continued to pay the IVA the mortgage on the house and my son moved with me. The divorce court says it is irrelevant and I must sell the house and give my ex partner half the equity. I am so annoyed we only took a joint IVA because GT suggested it after setting up an IVA for me. They will not even help me with a document to give to the court to explain that the IVA was set up because of my initial contact with them, my ex is claiming that it was all his idea. Any way we are finished now and if I could only find a way to fund the way of buying him out of the house it would be good but not looking possible at the moment. So after 7 years I have struggled to pay all the debts, was not eligible for a council house so had to privately rent, and he has managed to get social housing, and benefits. life sucks. GT were good to me though and did listen when I rang up occasionally to rant at them. But sometimes they could be more proactive. The end of the IVA seemed to be surprise to them. AS did me sending expenditure forms to them every June. They never asked for them I always just sent them. Thanks to the Forum I realised they were necessary and was always determined that I would get to the end. We were in debt to over £100,000 so the only way out was to have an IVA and struggle on.

A very illuminating post joanna 144
And these 'samiese twins'...interlocking iva is a time bomb!
People should be properly advised in the event of the split in the iva that you can make a clean 'no skin off your back' recourse to a solo iva with no quibbles.
This needs cleaning up....
Iva ticking time bomb that can be triggered by an unreliable partner....taking a jolly!

Hi. What annoys me more is I never originally began my iva with gt. It was sold to them by the original company. And they appear to introduce new policies at their own discretion without any respect to the initial policies we were advised on or agreed to.
Surely all iva companies should be governed by a clear set of policies so everyone has clear concise guidlines to what they are signing up to.
