I do not have, and have never had any connection with this company but over the years Mel has always given her all to help people. I find accusations of selling people down the river as offensive and inappropriate. Most businesses fail through an inability to make ends meet (and we all know how that feels) or because of ill health of key personnel.
Personally I hope that it is neither of these but if it is, I hope Mel isn't reading these posts.
I am not one of the mods who wished this thread locked, but those that did (do) want it, I am guessing was not because of people not "dancing to the "happy IVA tune"" but more due to the unhelpful speculation and, frankly, disrespectful comments being made.
As Andy re-iterated, please remember the forum ethos of respect for all.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
The thread should not be locked. There are people on here giving Melanie a hard time but most are supportive of her decision. I find it frankly disgusting that people could turn so quickly without knowing the reasons why or how they will be affected going forward.
I think that most people are afraid of the unknown and that sometimes this can be presented as anger.
Personally, I felt quite powerless when I discovered the extent of our debt; selecting an IP gave me some control back in a situation I felt I had no control over. With the best will in the world people who have not been in that situation cannot comprehend that feeling.
Having felt a little control and very pleased with myself for selecting Cleardebt, I imagine I would feel really upset if I was passed on.
I am 100% certain from the impression of Melanie from this forum that she would not have done it without a very good reason and I also believe that she would not simply sell her books on to the highest bidder. But that is a rational thought and unfortunately when people are worried, anxious, feeling powerless, the rational reasoning doesn't always kick in.
I hope that people use the forum as support going forward. Speculation and assumption helps nobody. It is what it is. Only time will see.
Hi, in response to Credit-King's post, I paid my uplift for November yesterday in the usual way - into the PJG Bank account and emailed Creditfix to let them know and included a copy of my wageslip. They emailed back the same day saying that they don't require wageslips to be sent unless there is additional income (which I presume would be anything over the uplift limit). I did also email them last week about my annual review (it was due in October) - I've had no paper work through and they told me to wait a few weeks and then email them again about it!
Thanks katikat ... things will start to become clearer over the weeks as individuals have to make their uplift payments and creditfix explain their requirements ...getting an immediate response is great and hopefully goes to show they are responsive to the needs of their clients.
I was also not for closure of this thread ...but stand by the ethos of the forum too.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
I'm not worried any more. Thanks to Michael especially for putting my worries to rest.
We all need to remember that CF cannot change the original terms and conditions of the IVA and that, if anyone DOES have an issue they can come here and get an answer to their problem quickly and competently. People like Foggy, especially, have experienced first had the feelings and worries when your IP/company changes.
The people I feel sorry for are the ones who do not know about this place.
I am sure that everything for most of us will carry on reasonably smoothly; remember folks you were lucky that Mel's team started your IVA off with good terms, conditions and a decent I&E from the outset. And that these are set in stone and cannot be changed.
My first post here but have been lurking for a long time and thought I'd share my recent experience.
I had 2nd review letter end of Sept from PJG and had queries so sent off a response to Mel. Hadn't heard anything in a few weeks which was unusual so emailed Laura and received the "you have been transferred to CF" response, followed by the letters shortly after. This was unfortunate timing as I would at least liked to have sorted the review issues before CF took over. Then yesterday got a call from PJG - "you shouldnt have got those letters as Northern Ireland cases still with PJG due to different laws"(??). The inference was that I would be transferred eventually although this was not confirmed on the phone.
Perhaps Michael could shed some light on this as he practices in NI?
N Ireland transfers usually need to be done via the High Court or by meeting of creditors. It may take a little longer for these transfers to take place which could explain the delay. Nothing really to be worried about and I am sure the transfers will go through smoothly in the near future.

I think this thread should be locked now.
As far as I can tell it was as above that requested the thread be locked and I highlighted this post to Andy. I never suggested it was locked. I think to disagree without being direspectful can bring healthy debate.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks Michael. As I have yet to be transferred are PJG not responsible for sorting my queries before the move rather than being stuck in limbo with nobody dealing with them until paperwork is sorted out, etc? I would rather move with a clean slate, as it were!
