DFD do not use the forum to give advice or comment these days, as they once did. In fact the last time they became a regular target for criticism they withdrew completely for a time, which we would prefer did not happen again.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Understood and no I would hate to drive them away completely.

I shall not badger.

That all said, Hubert, I do agree with you and think that both the forum members and DFD would benefit from a more interactive involvement.

Personally I would view it as invasion of privacy if an IVA company insisted on a home visit. I am choosy about who comes into my home and, if I was treated like Radish, the member of staff would have been told to leave very quickly!

Annual reviews have worked perfectly well for years without home visits so why the need to change now?

I don't think it's unreasonable for DFD to make a statement regarding home visits and anyone wanting any extra clarification or having questions could contact a given email for a personalised response. Many may be pacified with just a generic statement.

Totally agree Lesley - a brief statement on the reasons and perceived benefits of home visits may help those experiencing it fully understand and accept the reasons for doing so

One of the many good things about an IVA was no phone calls or dealing with creditors/banks/credit card companies. Home visits can be just as intimidating. I am sure the guy who visited me was trying to be friendly. But when you owe - but when you owe money to people, you can suspect they are there to spy on you - although they are not - paronoia soon sets in. I feel after I had completed my IVA 8 months earlier - submitted all my PPI and complied with everything - a home visit was not needed after all that time.
IVA complete March 2014 after 6 years.

I think it's obvious they are not going to make a quick 'general' statement to pacify some but continue with the generic contact me if you need to discuss further.

Their choice totally and one we must respect.

Hello all, I spoke to DFD today regarding our incredibly slow annual review, but that is another matter. I broached the subject of home visits and was told that they had stopped using Royal Mail, so any paperwork that couldn't be scanned or emailed back to them would need to be completed with the help of a field agent. I hope that helps some people to stop worrying, I know I was.
