Hi,
Been here a few times over the last 5 years and need to ask a question please.
My IVA officially ended in October 2014, I agreed to extend that for 3 months as all the PPI claims had not been settled. I haven't had to make any further payments but I want my name back and get my certificate. There is just one small PPI claim they haven't sorted, the big one for £5k they have and it has been paid in full.
I have phoned my IVA provider today as the 3 month extension finishes today, to get the all clear. They have now said it's been extended another 3 month's, I know I not paying the monthly payments any more, but I cant put up with thinking its all going to end, and then to be told its another 3 month's.
Please can you tell me, can this go on for ever?
It is now effecting my work prospects. I have made all the payments on time, I have abided by all the conditions, I have been more than obliging to all concerned.
Hi Kev, hopefully one of our experts can help, this can't go on forever and like you say you've abided by the t&c's of the IVA so you want releasing. Until October 2015 your IVA would remain on your credit file even with completion certificate but you want that certificate beforehand I realise this.
Some companies get you to sign in respect of PPI to say it can go to IVA but complete the IVA alongside. Hoping yours may do this?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
This is my problem, until I get the completion certificate I cant move forward. I have already signed over all the PPI payments saying 100% of all monies collected go to the IP.
Hoping that Foggy or one of the others will be able to offer some words for you to ask your IP to hopefully issue the certificate but continue to deal with the PPI.

Does seem to be a pattern here with certain IVA companies. They welcome you at the start with open arms, and then towards the end become elusive and difficult to deal with.
Any excuse to extend IVA's, and drain you of even more hard earned cash!
This industry needs Policing, and quickly before what credibility remains is quickly eroded away.
If they will not provide you with their complaints procedure I would suggest, having asked and got no respose, going straight to the regulators. Have a look here:
Ive just found a letter from my provider date 16 Sept 2014 stating -
"It is my intention to extend your agreement by a period of 3 month's to address the final matters on your case. Please contact me within 7 day's should you have any objections to the proposed course of action"
As I have been totally committed to my IVA, I phoned and agreed for just 3 month's.
I'm sure this gives me ground to object to a further 3 months, do you agree ?
There seems no valid reason to extend the IVA so keep up the pressure. Also check your Chairman's Report as quite often IVAs cannot go beyond 63 months as creditors want them closed too.
